Estrella's straightforward approach caught Cole off guard, leaving him to simply watch her.

He knew she wouldn't just take Autumn's word for it and pretend nothing had happened.

Their eyes met for a moment, and Cole chuckled. "Did your mom jokingly wonder if I found you somewhere and brought you home for her to raise?"

Before Estrella could respond, Cole continued, "She's been through so much for me. How could I possibly have another child out there and keep it a secret?"

At this point, Cole played the emotional card, saying, "Estrella, even though you're not biologically ours, you should know by now that your mom and I have never treated you as anything less than our own."

With a playful roll of her eyes, Estrella responded, "Alright, Dad, no need for the emotional talk. You and Mom know me well enough. I came here to hear the truth. After all, you two have raised me all these years; I'm not about to throw a fit or talk about leaving the Dorvold family. I'm here to stay, especially when you'll need me to help run the family business someday."

Autumn couldn't have children, so Cole stayed loyal to her all these years. Their fidelity deeply moved Estrella, and their kindness to her was undeniable. If not for this sudden revelation, she would have never even considered the possibility of not being their child. There was no reason for dramatics.

Cole was visibly touched by Estrella's understanding.

"Now that we've cleared the air, why don't you and Jason take Isaac to visit their graves sometime soon? Maybe Isaac's peace this time is thanks to their blessing."

Looking directly at Cole, Estrella saw the sincerity and resignation in his eyes. It seemed he was telling the truth.

After a long moment, Estrella nodded, "Okay."

Estrella didn't dwell on the matter, and Cole added, "You have Isaac, Jason, and your passions in life. I think I've fulfilled your parents' last wishes."

He then squinted at Estrella, concern flickering across his face, "I know what you're like, so I'm not worried about you. But your mom might be feeling a bit sensitive. Spend some time with her these days."

"Got it, Dad," Estrella acknowledged.

Then Cole suggested, "Considering everything you and Jason have been through, and with Isaac needing both of you, why don't you two go get your marriage license sorted out soon? We can plan the wedding later."

Just days ago, Cole had hesitated to let them remarry, but now he was urging them to make it official. Isaac's accident had proved Jason's commitment, convincing Cole he could trust Jason to protect Estrella and Isaac, perhaps even better than he could.

With a smile, Estrella agreed, "Okay, I'll talk to Jason."

After discussing some work matters, Estrella prepared to head back to the station.
