Estrella just gazed at Jason when he asked his question.
At that moment, she saw the tender look he gave Isaac, and Isaac's dependency on him. She actually wanted to tell him that Isaac was his son, his very own flesh and blood.
But Cole had just informed her that her grandparents were coming over tomorrow. He probably noticed her emotional stirrings tonight, so he made it a point to remind her. After all, he was against the idea of them getting back together, although he hadn’t made it too obvious, out of respect for Landon.
Earlier at the hospital, Cole indeed noticed Estrella's emotional turmoil and felt compelled to remind her. After all she had been through, he wanted her to keep something back for herself.
Jason had asked him to give way for Innovative Solutions Inc., and Cole couldn’t easily forget the fall Estrella had taken. She was his darling, the one he had raised with all the tenderness and love he could muster. He would rather bear the brunt himself than let her experience the slightest harm or injustice.
Moreover, Estrella hadn’t been back for long, and who knew how long Jason’s enthusiasm would last.
Thinking of Cole’s reluctance, Estrella softly caressed Jason’s hand on her face, saying, “Isaac is lucky to have you as a dad.”
At Estrella’s approval, Jason broke into a radiant smile, his eyes sparkling, before leaning in to kiss her. Often, their communication was all in the unsaid. Jason’s warm kiss led Estrella to gently close her eyes. After a tender and intricate kiss, they both fell asleep with Isaac nestled between them.

The next morning, the couple got Isaac ready and went downstairs for breakfast when Catrina arrived. On the stairs, both Estrella and Jason slowed down, and Isaac, seeing a stranger in the house, clutched Jason even tighter.
In the living room, Catrina’s eyes widened in surprise at Jason for a moment, then she quickly recovered, greeting them with a smile, “Good morning, Estrella, Jason!”
Then turning to Isaac with a gentle tone, she asked, “Did Isaac cry when he woke up this morning?”
Hearing Catrina speak, Estrella and Jason resumed their normal pace downstairs, greeting her with, “Good morning, Mrs. Carter.”
Catrina responded, “I heard about Isaac’s accident. Holly insisted I come check on him, saying that growing up with Estrella, it’s the least I could do.”
“She wanted to come herself, but the winter season takes a toll on her health, making it hard for her to breathe. So, she made me promise to visit on her behalf.”
“Both Holly and you, Mrs. Carter, are too kind. Isaac’s injury isn’t serious,” Estrella remarked, then looked at Isaac, “Say thank you to grandma.”
Isaac, still clinging to Jason, shyly thanked Catrina, “Thank you, grandma.”
Catrina’s smile was warm, “Isaac is such a sweetheart.”
But her words carried another meaning for Estrella and Jason; it wasn’t just about visiting Isaac. She wanted Jason to remember her, perhaps to rekindle old feelings. Putting it simply, she was there to stir the pot.
So, the couple tactfully avoided asking about Holly’s health. In the past, Jason would have shown some consideration for old times’ sake, as long as she didn’t bring up that fire incident. But now, with everything out in the open and the truth of that night being investigated, they had no reason to indulge her.
