Hadn't he just left? Why was he back again?

Erik stared in surprise. "Didn't you just leave? Why are you back?"

Before he could finish, Bryce stepped into the room, cupped Erik's face with both hands, and leaned in for a kiss.

Bryce's sudden kiss made Erik stagger backward, almost losing his balance until he grabbed Bryce around the waist to steady himself.

Erik looked at Bryce, unblinking, as he kissed her with such passion. Gradually, she let her guard down and loosened her grip on Bryce.

She never expected Bryce to have this side to him.

For a moment, Erik felt like she was dreaming, closing her eyes as Bryce continued to kiss her.

Afterward, they lay motionless on the bed.

Turning to glance at Erik, her bare shoulders peeking out next to him on the pillow, Bryce said, "Babe, I'm not going home tonight."

Erik, with her back to Bryce, softly responded, "Hmm."

After all these years, he had spent countless nights here. Turning him away now would just seem silly.

Bryce, seeing Erik's agreement, half-closed his eyes and gently tousled her hair.

Feeling much less awkward about his return and quite pleased with his actions, Bryce relaxed.

Only when he heard Erik's steady breathing did he turn around. By the dim light of the bedside lamp, he gazed at her, marveling at how life could bring such unexpected moments.

Noticing Bryce's shoulder exposed outside the blanket, Erik pulled it up to cover him.

Estrella was right; Erik found it difficult to connect with others. And after finally taking a liking to a guy, he ended up being charmed away by Melinda, and they were still dating.

So, her taste in men wasn't great, but Bryce was different!

Jason's concern and his offer to donate blood made Estrella crack a smile despite her worry.

"You better hurry and check if you have panda blood," she teased. "Isaac needs at least 5000."
