You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 70

Reina seethed with bitterness. "So Sylvia gets to push me to the brink, and we just let it go? How am I supposed to survive in this industry? Every time my name is brought up, people will say I stole her stunt work."

Ryan shook his head fondly. "This was your fault to begin with. Let's just put an end to it here. Moving forward, just keep taking roles as usual. As time passes, the audience will focus on your new projects and naturally forget about the past."

Reina's gaze dropped to her leg, permanently damaged and slightly disfigured from the car accident.

Dark, venomous thoughts began to creep into her mind.

Sylvia had caused her this much agony. Why should she get to walk away completely unscathed?

-

The Whispers of the Crown production played dead and refused to respond, while Reina simply shut off her comment sections entirely.

But the fallout was far from over.

A mob of haters continued to weaponize Reina's physical disability online. Eventually, they dug up Rebecca's old social media accounts, flooding her pages with absolutely vile and disgusting comments.

Sylvia didn't even notice this at first. Penelope caught it during a routine analytics sweep, spotting Rebecca's name rocketing straight to the number five trending spot.

"Where did these people come from?"

"I have no idea."

The two women exchanged a look, instantly realizing they were likely being set up.

Penelope moved fast. "I'll mobilize our team to clean up the comments."

However, before she could even execute the order, she refreshed her screen, only to find that every single comment had vanished.

"...They're gone?"

In a matter of minutes, the number five trending topic had been completely eradicated.

Moments later, entirely unrelated celebrity gossip surged to the top, burying everything else.

It was as if the entire event had never occurred. Only the screenshots on Penelope's phone proved the trend had ever existed, like seashells left behind by a receding tide.

Penelope was stunned. "If Reign Media had a PR team this lethal, why didn't they deploy them earlier?"

When Sylvia pulled up her phone to check Rebecca's page, she found that all the content had been hidden.

Both Rebecca's and Ashton's accounts had just been locked down to private.

A single name materialized in Sylvia's mind: Ashton.

He truly protected Rebecca.

Sylvia felt a suffocating lump in her throat.

It was impossible not to feel devastated.

But what could she possibly do?

"Let's just drop it," Sylvia said, knowing that dragging it out would never yield the justice she wanted.

Penelope countered, "If you want to keep fighting, we still have a shot."

"...There's no point anymore."

Sylvia lowered her eyes. "Reign Media fought us for days and couldn't flip the narrative. Why do you think the entire media landscape shifted in a single night?"

"Are you saying..."

"It was Ashton."

It was like two opposing forces locked in a brutal stalemate. But then, a third, absolute power stepped onto the battlefield.

And ended the war with a single stroke.
