You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 54

Whenever Julian visited the set, he brought Sylvia homemade soup, warm blankets, heavy coats, and a comfortable recliner. On days he couldn't make it, he would hire a courier to deliver the items.

He even arranged for special nutritious meals from a nearby high-end restaurant just for her.

Over time, even Zoe—who had initially looked down on Julian—became green with envy. She practically demanded to know where Sylvia had found such an incredibly reliable model-tier boyfriend.

When Sylvia relayed this to Julian, he merely offered a soft smile. "I'm honored. That reminds me, I really should get a gym membership."

Changing the subject effortlessly, Julian added, "While you were filming, Ms. Meade privately handed me her business card. I thought you should know."

The smile froze on Sylvia's lips. No wonder Zoe was always casually fishing for information about Julian, even asking how much Sylvia paid him every month. Sylvia had always just brushed her off with vague answers.

She never expected Zoe to actually approach Julian behind her back.

"I understand."

After spending so much time with Zoe, Sylvia had naturally let her guard down, assuming the girl was just a naive starlet with no ulterior motives. But anyone surviving in the entertainment industry clearly had some level of cunning.

Zoe might act like an airhead, but that didn't mean she lacked brains. Otherwise, she wouldn't have clawed her way to leading roles in multiple idol dramas.

"I hope she didn't cause you any trouble. I'm sorry, I never thought she would actually track you down..."

Julian raised a hand to gently stop her apology. "There's no need to apologize. I just wanted to give you a heads-up. She isn't capable of causing me any real trouble." He paused for a moment before adding, "And besides, I don't think we need to be so polite with each other."

For a while now, Julian had noticed how Sylvia kept drawing invisible boundaries around herself.

Every time he took a step forward, she instinctively retreated. So, he had slowly and quietly woven himself into the fabric of her daily life.

After Julian parked the car in the underground garage, they walked toward the elevators. Out of nowhere, a familiar black Porsche Cayenne rolled past them.

Moments later, Ashton stepped out of the driver's seat, dressed in a casual designer t-shirt. The passenger door swung open, and an elegantly dressed Reina stepped out.

Reina was wearing a pale yellow, waist-cinching dress paired with high heels. She took a few quick steps and nearly twisted her ankle. Ashton reached out and steadily caught her arm. "Careful. Slow down."

His voice was deep, rich, and laced with a rare, distinct gentleness.

Julian and Sylvia reached the elevator bay first and stood waiting. Shortly after, Ashton and Reina arrived. All four of them stepped into the same elevator car.

Ashton glanced over and noticed Sylvia. His gaze paused for a microsecond before he gave a curt nod, instantly shifting his attention away as if she were a stranger.
