You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 43

The weather was beautiful that day, though the wind was a bit strong.

As Sylvia stepped out, Julian was also leaving. She had rented Julian's apartment, becoming the little tenant right next door to him.

Today, Julian wore a long, tailored trench coat. His slightly messy bangs fell forward, brushing against the gold rims of his glasses, making him look all the more refined and handsome.

They got into the elevator, and Julian handed her a thermos of nourishing oatmeal. Sylvia took it.

Julian didn't immediately let go. His gaze swept over her, a slight frown creasing his brow. "Did you drink?"

Sylvia hadn't expected him to be so sharp. "I had a little last night."

After the cast was finalized, Sylvia received the full script and realized her role carried significant weight, adding immense pressure. Today was her first day on set. Unable to sleep last night, she had poured herself half a glass of red wine. She never thought Julian would catch it so easily.

She even looked down and sniffed her clothes. "I don't smell like anything."

"You should cut back on the drinking." Julian glanced at his watch. "Let's go. Time to drop you off."

"You're going too?" Sylvia paused.

"Of course. I'll be visiting you on set in the future too. Am I not welcome?" A faint glimmer shone in Julian's eyes as he asked, half-joking.

"Of course you are."

Stepping out of the building, Sylvia breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't see the familiar black sedan. Lately, Finley Harris had been delivering nutritious soup every single day, claiming it was under Grandfather Wyatt's orders, leaving Sylvia with absolutely no excuse to refuse.

So, Julian had offered to make her meals instead.

Sylvia was just about to get into Julian's car when she suddenly heard a voice behind her. "Ms. Harlow."

Sylvia turned around to see Finley dressed in a sleek black suit. His expression was stony, radiating a chilling formality.

He wasn't holding a thermos like usual. Instead, he carried a bulging briefcase, the contents entirely unknown.

First, he handed Sylvia a premium black-and-gold card.

"Young Master Wyatt instructed me to give this to you."

Sylvia's gaze dropped to the black card. It wasn't the one Ashton used to give her for daily expenses.

She looked up. "What is this supposed to mean?"

Though deep down, she already had an inkling.

Finley pulled a throw pillow, a piece of paper, and a tube of ointment from the briefcase.

The paper read:

"Ms. Sylvia Harlow and Mr. Ashton Wyatt have officially broken up. Ashton Wyatt is hereby forbidden from harassing Sylvia Harlow for any reason or under any excuse. Otherwise, he shall be a dog in this life, the next, and all lives to come."

She connected it to everything Vivienne had said earlier.

He was utterly terrified she might be carrying his child.

When Ashton first got together with her, he was incredibly careful, always using protection. As they grew more comfortable over the years, he started skipping it during her safe periods, always taking her to the absolute edge. In three years, there hadn't been a single accident.

Except for this time.

"This is the contact information for Dr. Zachary Preston at Sovereign Hospital. You can schedule an appointment directly with him. Young Master Wyatt prefers it be done as soon as possible."

The sunlight was intensely bright, making her vision swim slightly, and the faint sting of tears quickly evaporated.

She shouldn't be upset.

So Sylvia forced a smile to her lips.

"Alright, I'll go."

"I don't need the card. After all, I already took the thirty million."

The wind whipped past her soft velvet blouse, outlining her slender waist. She felt a chill but held back, refusing to let it show.

Beside her, Julian pulled off his trench coat and draped it over her shoulders. He clasped her slightly cold fingers and gently pulled her into his warm embrace.
