It was his way of telling Sylvia to stop making a scene.
His patience had officially run out.
Sylvia let out a bitter scoff. Did he really think his pride was the only thing that mattered?
"Didn't we already agree we're broken up? What's done is done. You said you didn't like me, so we're finished."
"Since we're broken up, I'm never stepping foot in your place again."
The room fell into a heavy, suffocating silence.
Ashton stared at her with a dark, freezing glare. Ever since he walked into the room, this woman had done nothing but throw the word 'breakup' in his face. Her lips were still swollen and wet from his kiss, yet the words slipping out of them were absolutely merciless, entirely determined to completely sever their relationship.
A freezing chill settled in his chest. He casually propped one leg onto the luggage bench, his gaze radiating an icy, terrifying detachment.
He absolutely despised it when people used breakups as a threat, and he refused to believe Sylvia didn't know that.
"I'll give you one last chance. Are you coming back with me or not?"
Watching him act so arrogant and superior only fueled Sylvia's rage. She grabbed the pillow off the bed and violently chucked it at him.
"No! I am never going back!"
"I told you we're broken up! Over! Done! Are you completely deaf?!"
She stood on the mattress, whacking Ashton like she was playing Whack-A-Mole, desperately venting all the suffocating rage built up in her chest.
Ashton casually dodged to the side, a cold, mocking smirk playing on his lips.
"Fine. I was getting sick of playing with you anyway. My life is better without you. I'll go straight to a club tonight and buy someone a hundred times better than you."
Sylvia screamed back at him, "The only thing you're good for is your skills in the bedroom anyway!"
Unwilling to back down, Ashton's predatory gaze filled with icy derision. "And those skills had you completely addicted, didn't they?"
Sylvia felt completely humiliated by his crude words. He was only saying these disgusting things because he had absolutely zero respect for her left.
The angrier she got, the harder it was to hold back her tears, and crying would completely destroy her momentum.
Sylvia dug her nails fiercely into her palms, her delicate shoulders trembling violently.
"I was just a naive idiot for letting you play me! Are you happy now? Get the hell out of here and go find your club girls!"
Seeing Sylvia completely bristled and tense with rage, Ashton had absolutely no intention of leaving. "Who are you to tell me to leave?"
Reaching out, his thumb roughly wiped a tear from the corner of her eye. "You're an ugly crier."
"Get out!"
Sylvia slapped his hand away, a sudden wave of dizziness hitting her. She didn't want to fight with him anymore; it was entirely too exhausting.
His delayed concern was absolutely worthless.
"Just let me go, Ashton."
Her voice was laced with profound exhaustion. "What did I possibly do wrong to deserve being treated like this by you? You said we were done, and I accepted it, so why do you keep harassing me? I can't stomach your touch anymore, and I can't satisfy you, do you understand?"
Ashton's brows slowly knotted together. "Do you honestly think I only look for you just to sleep with you?"
Sylvia replied with dead, emotionless absolute certainty, "You're the one who said you didn't care about me."
Ashton was struck completely speechless. After a long silence, he said, "We'll go to the hospital tomorrow to get that wound checked out."
Sylvia turned her back to him. "Break up."
Ashton rolled onto his side, pulling her soft body tightly against him, his hand unintentionally resting flat over her stomach.
"So you can immediately go run off to your next target?"
Sylvia ignored the taunt, repeating, "Break up."
It seemed no matter what Ashton said, that was the only phrase she was going to give him.
Ashton ground his teeth together. "Fine. After the hospital tomorrow, we're fucking done."
As if anyone was actually begging her to stay.
