You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 134

Tears streamed down Reina's face as the crushing realization hit her: there were some things she would never attain, no matter how hard she tried.

Ever since that middle school summer when he'd finished a basketball game and walked into her world with that slightly rebellious smirk, she had been in love with him. But his eyes had never, ever been on her.

That summer day, drenched in sweat from the game, his youthful features had looked incredibly handsome.

When he looked over, his eyes had sparkled, and he started walking in her direction.

Reina had thought he was walking toward her. Blushing furiously, she took two steps forward—only for him to completely ignore her, walking right past her to get to Rebecca.

His eyes were only for her sister.

In that moment, she had felt a deep, ugly jealousy toward her own sister, even though Rebecca had always been so good to her.

She still vividly remembered the day of the accident. Her sister hadn't hesitated to shove her out of the way before the heavy truck slammed into her.

That day, Rebecca had been wearing a white floral dress. Her blood had pooled across the pavement, blooming like blood-red daisies.

Blood had poured endlessly from her mouth.

Then Ashton had rushed over, his entire body trembling as he screamed, "Save her! Somebody save her!"

People crowded around. Someone called for an ambulance.

It was pure chaos.

Reina had stood there watching it all with total detachment. Everyone assumed she was in shock, but only she knew the truth: she was thrilled.

Ah, the obstacle was finally dead.

Even when Rebecca used her dying breaths to beg Ashton to take care of her little sister, Reina felt absolutely nothing.

Idiot.

If the roles were reversed, she never would have saved her.

Reina had assumed that with the obstacle gone, Ashton would finally belong to her.

But she never anticipated that witnessing Rebecca's death would trigger severe psychological trauma in Ashton. He spent nearly two years seeing a psychiatrist.

Reina was quickly shipped off abroad by her family to study.

She caught sight of Eleanor walking toward the garden and quickly dropped her voice. "I'll come find you tonight."

As Ashton sat in his car, preparing to leave the estate, he suddenly heard an urgent shout. "Mr. Wyatt!"

Ashton arched an eyebrow, signaling Gideon to stop the car. Finley jogged over in a few quick strides, leaning against the window to speak in a hushed voice. "Mr. Wyatt, there's something I need to tell you."

"It's about the group of people smearing Ms. Harlow online. I've found some leads."

Finley paused, glancing nervously at Gideon in the driver's seat.

Ashton was in no mood for games. "Just spit it out."

Finley swallowed hard. "It's connected to Connor Brooks."

Ashton slowly lifted his gaze, staring at Finley with eyes so cold it sent a shiver straight down Finley's spine. "It's the truth, Boss. I wouldn't dare lie to you."

Ashton's face remained completely expressionless. "Got it. I'll look into it."
