Chapter 1
A frail-looking young woman was seen sitting on the curb in front of a hospital, her eyes fixed greedily on the burger truck parked opposite her.
Her face was deathly pale and her hazel eyes were blood-red with dark circles. underneath. People avoided her as they passed, mistaking her for a hobo. She didn’t blame them, she sure looked like one with her torn trousers and dirty clothes.
Felicity couldn’t fight the hunger anymore. She slowly stood up, dusting her coat before approaching the food truck slowly.
“One beef burger, please,” She told the vendor, bringing out the last notes with her from her pocket.
“Don’t worry, it’s on the house.” The friendly-looking old man told her as he handed the burger to her.
She smiled at the man’s kindness but she wasn’t accepting any charity today. She had nothing more to do with her money, “It’s fine. I will pay. I have no use for money now.”
After all, her life was about to come to an end.
She walked away before the man could reject her. She moaned as she took a large bite from her burger. It was the most delicious thing she ever had.
Or it was probably her hunger speaking. After all, she had not eaten anything for two days.
‘What better place to die other than the place you were born?’ She thought, making up. her mind before strolling into the white building with a limp in her step.
It was an awfully busy night in the hospital. Felicity found small comfort knowing she would not ascend into the afterlife alone.
She collapsed into one of the chairs in the corridor with laboured breath. Every step she took was filled with pain. Both physically and emotionally.
Nobody seemed to notice her. As she looked at the busy scene before her, she zoned off.
Ten years ago, if anyone ever told Felicity that the would end up like this dirty. homedea, and dying she would have laughed in their faces.
Brought up by one of the most influential families in City B, she was practically at princess. A subject of envy for all girls in the society.
What didn’t she have?
Born with skin that glowed under the sun, luscious brunette hair, the body of a goddess. and a lace that would make a goddess die from jealousy. She was on the ladder of becoming a successful actress.
But everything went haywire when he walked into her life. Caster Walker, the first son of her father’s arch nemesis.
It was a known fact that the two families were at odds but as an actress, Felicity had always been drawn to the enemies turned lovers and forbidden love trope. It excited her.
With her cousin’s encouragement, Georgia, she pursued him until he finally agreed to date her, neglecting her career.
He lured her in with his baby blue eyes and handsome face. He always knew the right thing to say to appease her, the perfect gifts to buy, and the perfect places to take her to. Perhaps that should have been the first red flag but sadly, she was blinded.
He was perfect and she fell for him – Hard.
She wanted him all to herself even when her father adamantly refused. The two families had a long feud, so how could he let his only child marry into the enemy’s territory? He told her that the Walker family was filled with snakes.
She should have listened to him back then. Indeed, parents know best.
Her father resigned and gave Caster her hand in marriage when she found out she was pregnant after being discovered in a scandalous position in a hotel by the press with Caster.
She had partied the previous night and had no recollection of what had transpired. The only thing she remembered was waking up to a horde of journalists taking pictures of her naked and bruised body with Caster sleeping beside her.”
The headlines said she had seduced the wealthy tycoon. Her reputation was ruined, and

no one wanted to star her in a movie after that.
Caster was the only one she could rely on. She was blinded by love and married him
ven after he stole her innocence and said it was an accident.
Now, she found out everything was a lie a ploy.
–
Two days ago after being fired from one of her meagre jobs due to sluggishness caused by malnutrition, she came home early to see the biggest shock of her life. Caster was in bed with someone she had trusted with her life. Her cousin, Georgia.
It didn’t stop there. They didn’t show any remorse as Caster slapped a divorce paper on her face and revealed the whole truth. Their whole marriage was a carefully constructed ruse made by the two of them to steal her father’s wealth and ruin her life.
It turned out that Caster had only married her because he was sick and she was the only one who could help him..
You see, Caster had a really rare blood type which only a few people had including Felicity. His two kidneys were found to have been slowly dying for years now and he needed Felicity’s to live.
Immediately after they had gotten married, She lost her baby after she ‘accidentally’ slipped and fell.
Caster had pressured her to donate her o**an for him which she did blindly, after which, he treated her coldly. He let his family maltreat and spit on her face.
She, the heir of a wealthy family scrubbed other people’s bathrooms and washed people’s clothes for meagre change while her cousin, Georgia stole her position as the top actress and lived luxuriously.
What did she ever do to them to deserve this?
When she fought back, they locked her up in the basement and left the house. The thirty hours she was locked there gave her time to think. Think about everything she has done.
How she pushed her loved ones away, drove her father into an early grave from worrying about her, how she fell from heaven to hell because of her stu**ty. She thought about it all.
Later when Georgia came to taunt her with a knife to sign the divorce
papers, she

fought back and got stabbed in the stomach but not before knocking out the b**h.
As she ran away from the house under the sad night with a knife sticking out of her, she knew she was going to die. Death was inevitable. What a life she had lived!
A few minutes later, Felicity was fighting the darkness threatening to cloud her eyes. Nurses in white were running amok in front of her.
She heard a blonde nurse pass the sad news of a man’s passing to his pregnant wife and another telling an old lady that her granddaughter was alright.
A nurse with jet-black hair stopped in front of her, “Do you need anything, ma’am?”
Felicity looked up as a tear slipped from her eyes, she answered weakly, “Yes… I don’t want to die.”
It wasn’t fair. She didn’t want to die. Nobody wanted to die like this! She hasn’t achieved. anything yet. She wasn’t able to avenge those who made her like this.
“Are you hurt? Do you need a doctor?” The nurse touched her shoulders. Her coat shifted to the side, revealing the knife stuck to her stomach. The bottom part of the white shirt underneath was dyed red. The nurse gasped, “Doctor, we have an emergency!”
Felicity didn’t care about what the nurse was saying. Her attention was drawn to the man who was currently being wheeled into the hospital.
The dark green suit he was putting on was all wrinkly and bl**dy. His golden watch was hanging loosely from his limp hands. From the looks of it, he was dressed for a party before misfortune befell him.
His chest was severely burnt as if someone doused him with gasoline and set him on fire.
She could have sworn she had seen him before but her brain was too hazy to remember anything.
They locked eyes and Felicity saw something familiar in his eyes. Acceptance. He had accepted his fate unlike her who was filled with resentment.
“Miss, don’t fall asleep. What is your name?”

Felicity Felicity Onon.”
The last thing she heard was a gasp of disbelief from the nurse before succumbing to
the darkness.
