Underwater: The Silent Luna novel Chapter 128

Chapter 128

An hour later, Camila came to their cabin.

96

She had settled into her assigned place first, but even before she entered, she had already been uneasy. Nervous, though

gh not because of Meadow. Meadow did not intimidate her. Ethan did. That was the truth of it. She knew his reputation. Knew his temper. Knew the danger of stepping into a case this complicated and producing results he might not like. Her husband asked her to turn the job down, but she refused. She believed in her skill enough to come Still, walking toward that cabin, she could not pretend she felt entirely calm. She only hoped she would not regret ignoring

Meadow welcomed her in.

That alone softened the entrance. Meadow gave her a seat in

people underestimate how much she was observing. Ethan Grü

living room and moved with that quiet politeness that always made there already, and Camila greeted him with appropriate respect. He answered, but he was not smiling the way he sometimes did around Meadow now. He looked focused. Direct. Impatient in a contained sort of way.

He did not let pleasantries breathe for long.

“When are we starting?”

The question cut straight through the formal warmth Camila might have otherwise offered. She swallowed before answering.

“Right away, Alpha.”

He nodded like that was the only acceptable answer anyway.

“So, who is going first? Me or my wife?”

Camila looked at Meadow.

“I will start with Luna first so you can observe her with me.”

Ethan approved of that instantly. He wanted to watch, Wanted to see everything. Wanted to understand. Camila, meanwhile, glanced

around the room again, still with that careful nervousness. Ethan noticed it,

“Do you want to use the bedroom?” he asked.

She shook her head quickly,

“The couch will be fine, Alpha.”

That was sensible enough. Open space. Easier observation. Less intimacy in the room than the bedroom might imply. Ethan nodded and

let her lead.

Camila composed herself and turned to Meadow fully.

“I need you to lie down on the couch, Luna.”

Meadow obeyed.

She moved onto the couch with visible nerves, but she did not resist. She wanted answers too much for that. Camila stood near her and

brought her own hands together in front of her.”

“I need you to put your hands together like this.”

Meadow copied her.

Then Camila guided the next step.

She asked Meadow to stretch her hands out. Meadow did it while lying there, fingers clamped together, arms extended in front of her.

Camila carefully released Meadow’s index fingers so they stood apart from the rest, facing each other.

“I want you to focus on the space between your index fingers. I need you to imagine that those two fingers are magnets carrying negative

and positive energies, attracting each other. When the two fingers touch, I need you to close your eyes and relax.”

Ethan watched every detail.

He expected Meadow to struggle maybe. To look uncertain. But she was doing exactly what she was told with surprising calm. Maybe

because she wanted this badly enough to surrender to the process. Maybe because her body was already more suggestible than any of

them knew.

“Do not help the fingers. Just leave them. They will come together on their own. Keep watching the space between them close up on their

own.”

Camila’s voice had turned soothing. Soft, Slow. Meadow obeyed. Her eyes stayed fixed on that small space. Ethan stared too, though not

because he thought the finger exercise itself mattered much. He was watching Meadow. Her breathing. Her face. The small shifts in her

muscles. The way she looked both present and increasingly

far away.
