Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1090

Mira didn't want to bicker with them anymore.

"I was being serious just now. If you don't have a girlfriend, I can set you up with someone."

Mira said, looking at Wesley.

Harvey chimed in. "Who are you trying to set him up with? Celine, or Elara Finn? As long as it isn't Jillian Lowe."

"Don't underestimate Jillian. She's got her own unique set of talents."

"Just don't let her turn into another Gwen Quinn."

Harvey had never witnessed Gwen throwing one of her notorious tantrums in person, but he had heard Mira mention it plenty of times.

"Absolutely not. When it comes to right and wrong, she's got a much clearer head than Gwen ever did."

That reminded Mira of something. "Harvey,

you better not let Gwen's existence ruin your views on dating."

"Do I look like someone who gets influenced that easily?"

"Hey, who do you think is a better match for Wesley? Elara or Celine?"

Harvey stared at Wesley for a moment. "Celine, probably. She's gentle, kindhearted, and knows her own mind."

Mira mused, "Elara's great too, though. She's grounded, hardworking, and knows how to manage a household. Total wife material."

"Don't you think Elara is a bit too rigid? From dawn to dusk, she's either buried in a textbook or grinding away at a part-time job."

"You were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, Harvey. How could you possibly understand the struggles of ordinary people?

Do you think she actually enjoys working herself to the bone? If she doesn't work, she can't pay her tuition or afford to eat."

"You say that like you're some kind of expert. It's not like you've ever faced real hardship."

"Who says I haven't? When I cut ties with my family, I didn't have a single penny to my name."

Ethan Mercer and Hank Whitlock had each brought five hundred billion as well. However, Ethan's wife, Beatrice Whitlock, hadn't made the trip this time; instead, he had brought another assistant.

Mira had heard that Beatrice had recently given birth, but she hadn't gone out of her way to ask about it, nor had she planned on sending a gift.

They had agreed to sever ties, and that meant strictly no contact. Doing anything else would be a betrayal to her past self. Being able to tolerate him as an acquaintance was already her greatest concession.

But in this lifetime, Mira would never call Ethan her brother again.

Hank had suggested chartering a private jet—after all, none of them were short on cash, and they were all carrying highly sensitive materials. But Mira and her master firmly rejected the idea.

Private jets drew too much attention, and the memory of the airplane incident from a year or two ago was still fresh in their minds. Blending in with a crowd of regular passengers made it much easier to go unnoticed.

Upon arriving in Javenaire, James Barlow personally brought a team to pick them up at the airport. They didn't even need the people arranged by Vaughn—Hank's local security head who had guided them on their last trip—or Master Ellis's contacts.

When they pulled up to The Larsen Grand, a dedicated staff member immediately handled their luggage, bypassing the standard bellhops entirely.

As the group followed James toward the hotel entrance, Wesley suddenly spoke up. "Look, the little snob is here."
