"Then how do you possess memories of your past life?"
"I didn't drink the Soul Keeper's tea."
"Let me ask you this. Was Owen my apprentice in his past life?"
"He was."
"Did you two have bad blood?"
Otherwise, why would Owen have approached him so early in this life, explicitly warning him not to accept Mira?
Mira shook her head. "No. We were very close in our past life. Besides, Owen doesn't have any memories of his past life. Even if we didn't get along, he wouldn't remember."
"Then why did he..."
"Because of Sebastian's poisonous words. Sebastian was my enemy in our past life."
"Are you saying Sebastian also retains memories of his past life?"
"From the looks of it, yes, he does."
"That damn Soul Keeper is completely incompetent!"
Mira hadn't expected Jordan to say something so blunt.
"Millions of souls drink her tea. No matter how careful she is, mistakes are bound to happen."
Mira stepped in to defend the mythological deity. She had no choice but to lay everything out for Jordan.
There were simply too many elements unique to his sect. One or two similarities could be written off as a coincidence, but when every single technique belonged to his lineage, denial was impossible.
She could have claimed Sarah Creed taught her, but that lie would crumble under Jordan's scrutiny. After weighing her options, Mira had decided the absolute truth was the only way forward.
And looking at him now, it was clear he finally believed her.
"What happened to me later in that life?"
"You had a wonderful life. You passed all your knowledge down to me. When you grew old, I took care of you."
