Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1089

"All right, I understand. I'll talk it over with my dad when I head back tomorrow morning."

"Child, remember to take care of yourself first. Establish your own rhythm in life before you try to help others.

Whatever you do, don't let this affect your health and studies."

Grandma Evelyn urged Celine Ward once more.

After chatting for a while, Mira Mercer headed upstairs to focus on work.

Grandma Evelyn, Rachel, and Martha Vance stayed behind to keep Celine company.

Early the next morning, as Mira was driving out of the estate gates to head to the office, Seraphina Quinn and her mother blocked her car.

"What is it?"

Mira rolled down the window and asked.

"I'm warning you, Mira. If you dare lay another finger on Lawrence, I won't let you get away with it."

Seraphina threatened.

Mira had heard from her uncle yesterday that Seraphina was pregnant again. It looked like she was ready to walk through fire for Lawrence Lance.

Mira almost felt a twinge of pity for the girl.

She had to admire the manipulative prowess of Lawrence and his mother. They actually had the entire Quinn family wrapped around their fingers.

Still, they were all adults, and this was their choice. Whether it led to fortune or ruin, it wasn't her problem.

Outside the car, Seraphina was still waiting for an answer.

"Boss, want us to get out and drag them away?"

Silas Vane asked.

"No need. Just get the security guards at the gate to handle it."

Silas stuck his arm out the window and waved at the guards. They immediately rushed over, grabbing the mother-daughter duo by the arms and pulling them aside.

The sleek Lamborghini slowly pulled onto the road. From start to finish, Mira never dignified Seraphina with a response.

Boring.

The Quinn family might be willing to bet everything on this hopelessly love-struck girl, but Mira wasn't her mother. Why should she set aside a blood feud just to accommodate someone else's stupidity?

The day of their next departure for Wall Street arrived in the blink of an eye. This time, Mira had personally prepared a staggering six trillion. Owen Lance brought five trillion, and Master Ellis contributed four trillion. Buoyed by the massive profits from their previous Wall Street expedition, everyone was carrying significantly more capital.

"What, is Boss Mercer interested?"

Wesley teased with a grin.

"Even if she were, you wouldn't have the guts to date her."

Harvey muttered under his breath.

"Why not?"

"Because you can't beat Owen in a fight. He'd crush you."

"Ugh, there's no justice in this world!"

Wesley complained with exaggerated despair.

Mira glared at the two of them bantering, putting on a fierce expression. "Making fun of me, are you? Careful, or I'll leave you both behind this time!"

"No, please don't! We wouldn't dare."

"Long live Boss Mercer! May luck and prosperity follow Boss Mercer wherever she goes!"
