The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 533

Tallulah currently held two percent of the Locke Group's shares—a gift Yulen had secretly transferred to her back when they were deeply in love, completely bypassing his three formidable sisters. But there was no way in hell she was handing that over to Winona!

"Impossible! You're completely delusional. Forget me—Yulen and Camille would never agree to that either!"

"Then we have nothing to discuss."

Winona ended the call and glanced at Ezra Vane in the driver's seat. "Take me to my aunt's salon first."

"Understood," Ezra replied, smoothly pulling into traffic.

When she arrived, the salon was buzzing with clients. Seeing Helena occupied, Winona settled into a chair next to Greta to help with her homework.

Greta slid a piece of cake across the table, looking up with big, pleading eyes. "Summer break is coming up! I really want to go to the aquarium. Will you take me?"

Winona smiled, ruffling the girl's hair. "Of course. I'll clear a weekend and we'll make a day of it."

Greta's face lit up like a Christmas tree. "You're the best!"

Helena walked out from the back just in time to catch the end of the conversation. "You two go ahead and look at the exhibits, but stay away from those crazy rides. I've been watching the news, and there have been so many accidents on amusement park attractions lately. It genuinely terrifies me. I never let Greta go on anything high up anymore."

Winona nodded in agreement. "Don't worry, we'll stick to the safe stuff."

Helena glanced at the weather app on her phone and frowned. "They're predicting torrential rain tonight. They don't know if the typhoon will make landfall here in Riverton. Finish your cake and get home. We're closing up in half an hour to beat the storm."

Leaving the salon, Winona got back into the car.

Lexie had texted earlier saying she had cooked dinner and left it in the fridge because of the incoming storm; all Winona had to do was heat it up.

Stefan wasn't back yet. Winona was still full from the cake at the salon, so she decided to hold off on dinner, sipping on a thermos of cranberry juice Helena had packed for her.

Usually bouncing off the walls, Biscuit was completely lethargic, curled up motionless in her dog bed.

Winona tried offering water twice, but the dog merely took a weak lap before collapsing back down.

A knot of unease tightened in Winona's stomach. She scooped the heavy dog into her arms and hurried out the door, determined to get to the 24-hour vet clinic.
