The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 512

Just then, two men walked through the club's entrance: Sylvan Scully and Yulen Locke.

Spotting Wynne, Sylvan's face lit up with a smile. The owner of the tennis club was a buddy of his, and the moment he heard Wynne was here, he had rushed over. However, fully aware that Wynne despised the sight of him, he kept his distance, content to just watch her quietly from afar.

Meanwhile, Yulen's gaze was locked on the court where Winona and Stefan were playing. A complex wave of emotion washed over his eyes.

During the five years of their marriage—when they had supposedly been the closest—Winona had always stayed quietly at home. She rarely went out, rarely socialized, and he had certainly never seen her play tennis.

Seeing her so radiant, confident, and full of life made it impossible for him to look away.

Suddenly, Stefan's racket flew out of his hand, clattering against the court. He grimaced, gripping his shoulder.

Winona immediately dropped her racket and sprinted over to him. "Is it your shoulder? Did the old injury flare up?"

Stefan took a slow breath before answering, "It's fine. I just need a minute to rest."

Winona wasn't having it. "I think this club has medical staff on standby. Let's get someone to look at it."

"Alright."

Watching the deep, unconcealed worry in Winona's eyes as she fussed over Stefan felt like a physical knife twisting in Yulen's gut.

An on-site medic brought an ice pack for Stefan.

Stefan looked up at Winona. "I'll sit here and ice it. Why don't you keep playing with the coach?"

Winona had completely lost her appetite for the game. "No, I'm done. I'll sit here with you."

Wynne quickly chimed in, "Let's head to the hospital in a bit just to get a proper scan."

Winona agreed wholeheartedly. "Yes, we definitely should."

Forrest and Simone came over with fresh juices and water, checking in on Stefan. After ten minutes of icing, the pain eased up. Stefan initially wanted to skip the hospital, but with Winona stubbornly insisting, they packed up and left.

Yulen watched Winona's retreating silhouette, a heavy, suffocating loneliness settling over him.
