When Margaret found out what happened, she immediately called Stefan. She still didn't believe Ophelia had done anything truly wrong, and her tone was incredibly aggressive. "You broke Ophelia's heart first! She only retaliated because she was hurt! Besides, all she did was swap it out for Vitamin C. She never intended to actually harm Winona. Do you really have to blow this completely out of proportion?"

Stefan's voice was frigid. "There was never anything between Ophelia and me. You were the one whispering in her ear, giving her false hope and making her think she could join the Goddard family. Her psychological obsession is your doing, not mine. And she should count her lucky stars she only used Vitamin C. If she had used anything that harmed Winona's health, simply kicking her out of Riverton wouldn't even begin to cover the consequences."

Unable to argue with his logic, Margaret could do nothing but helplessly watch Ophelia be exiled from Riverton.

With both Glenda and Ophelia gone, Margaret had no one left to scheme with. Furthermore, the massive headache she got from arguing with Stefan finally pushed her to pack her bags and return to the Capital.

When Ryder Powell learned of the incident, he made no attempt to defend Ophelia.

He firmly believed that if she committed a crime, she needed to face the consequences. Still, he couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Ophelia was undeniably brilliant, yet she kept making these catastrophic, ruinous mistakes all for the sake of a misguided crush.

If only she had funneled all that calculation into her career.

Sylvan, however, was furious that Ryder hadn't stepped up to protect her.

He cornered Ryder in the hallway. "Are you acting this cold because she's not your biological blood? Winona relentlessly bullied her until she fainted, and you didn't even try to defend your own daughter?"

Ryder looked at him with cool detachment. "Sylvan, how I choose to discipline my child is absolutely none of your business."

Sylvan seethed. "You think I want to care? I'm only stepping in because she is Wynne's child too! You have zero sense of responsibility. When Wynne wakes up and hears that Ophelia was tormented like this, she is going to be heartbroken!"

"Then you truly don't know Wynne at all," Ryder replied flatly. "She has zero tolerance for malice and deceit. If she knew Ophelia pulled a stunt like this, she would be the first one to punish her."

The mention of Wynne's true character brought back a flood of painful memories for Sylvan. His chest tightened with an unbearable ache. Suddenly losing his will to fight, he turned on his heel and stormed off in a huff.

Winona happened to be walking in to visit Mrs. Powell and bumped right into the furious Sylvan.
