The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 438

"The Locke family's ultra-luxurious welcome."

"Mrs. Locke's breathtaking debut."

"Mrs. Locke's flawless post-baby glow."

The hashtags rocketed up the charts. On the livestream, Tallulah’s radiant complexion and the absurdly expensive gifts sent the comment section into an absolute frenzy.

"Gorgeous, rich husband... Mrs. Locke seriously won the lottery of life!"

"That baby was literally born at the finish line."

"I could sell my organs and still not afford a single one of those gifts."

Having said everything she wanted the internet to hear, Tallulah descended the stage and handed the baby off to the nanny.

She marched straight over to Winona, her chin held high. "I invited you here today so you could see reality with your own eyes. I am the one everyone recognizes as Mrs. Locke. My son is the future heir of this empire. And you? You're just a nameless joke. I hope you finally understand your place and stop obsessing over Yulen."

Winona let out a soft, mocking laugh. "I want to talk to you in private."

They walked out to the secluded back garden.

Winona pulled out her phone, tapped the screen, and played a video.

On the screen, a middle-aged man was sobbing hysterically into the camera. "It wasn't Margaret who paid me to run her over... It was Tallulah! She tracked me down and said she'd give me five million if I killed Ms. Jowett, and three million if I just crippled her..."

Tallulah’s face drained of all color.

Winona locked her phone and stared at her with dead, terrifying calm.

"Do you know why I specifically waited until today to come settle this?"

Tallulah froze, staring at her in absolute horror.

How could she possibly have proof? She had assumed the driver would keep his mouth shut, even if he botched the job. She had completely miscalculated.

"What... what do you want?" she choked out, her voice violently trembling.

"I'll do it!"

Tonight was just a private party for Locke relatives. Even if she confessed here, it would stay within the family. It wouldn't completely destroy her life. Once the dust settled, she could just bring in more lucrative business deals, and they would all happily forget about it!

Her legs shaking violently, Tallulah walked back into the banquet hall, her face an ashen mask of defeat.

Seeing the two women walk in together, Willow frowned sharply.

What was Winona even doing here? Tonight was her precious grandson’s big night. If that girl dared to start drama, Willow swore she would tear her apart.

Tallulah slowly approached the stage.

Every step felt like walking over broken glass. Even though she had agreed to the terms, actually standing in front of everyone and confessing felt physically impossible.

But then she pictured the police swarming the room, dragging her away in front of high society. The humiliation of a confession was infinitely better than prison.

Just as she stepped up to the microphone, the grand doors opened, and Yulen walked into the hall.
