Having just wrapped up his business trip in Giltburg City, Yulen was preparing to fly back to Riverton. Remembering his promise to buy Tallulah a gift, he strolled into a high-end luxury boutique and stopped in front of a sparkling display case.
A sales associate politely asked what style he was looking for.
Yulen honestly didn't know what Tallulah liked. His only impression was that she always gravitated toward the newest and the most expensive.
"Just give me your latest necklace and bracelet," he said casually.
The sales associate smiled, nodding, and pulled out two stunning pieces, explaining their design.
"Those are fine. I'll take them," Yulen said dismissively.
As he waited, his eyes drifted to a tray of rings nearby.
It had been a very long time since he'd seen Winona wearing a ring. He wondered if she had stopped wearing the one he had given her because the style was too outdated. Since he was already here, he figured he might as well buy her a new one.
Having Tallulah bear his child was a victory for the Locke family, but it was undoubtedly a massive injustice to Winona, even if she had been kept in the dark. He still needed to make it up to her.
After carefully selecting a ring, the sales associate asked, "Would you like us to adjust the size?"
Glancing at his watch and realizing his flight was boarding soon, Yulen shook his head. "No need. Just wrap it up nicely."
He figured once he gave it to Winona, she could just take it to a store to get it resized herself. He was far too busy to stand around waiting. He had never considered ring sizes when buying jewelry for either Tallulah or Winona in the past. To him, these were trivial details—things men simply shouldn't waste their time on. Women were always ecstatic just to receive jewelry; if the size was wrong, they could fix it themselves.

Violet had returned to Riverton.
That evening, Winona and Stefan headed to the Goddard Manor to join the elderly matriarch for dinner.
The spread was lavish, and Violet kept piling prime cuts of meat and fresh vegetables onto Winona's plate. Seeing her grandson finally in a proper relationship brought a radiant, crinkly smile to Violet's face.
"What is she worried about?" Violet asked, curious.
"She's worried that Stefan's lifestyle might not make him the best fit for settling down," Winona said tactfully.
Violet slapped Stefan's arm again. "You're always working and flying all over the place! How are you ever going to take care of a family? No wonder her grandmother thinks you're not marriage material!"
Stefan frowned slightly. "I'm already restructuring my workload. I'll make sure to carve out more time to be with Winona."
Violet let out a skeptical huff. "Let's hope that's not just talk."
She hadn't forgotten the past. Back when Stefan and Winona were mere acquaintances, Stefan was a total workaholic with zero interest in romance. Whenever Violet tried to push him to spend time with Winona, he would just deflect and give her the runaround.
After dinner, Winona and Stefan said their goodbyes and drove back to his apartment. Stefan stepped out onto the balcony to take a business call, while Winona curled up on the sofa, texting her aunt.
Helena had sent over a few potential commercial spaces for the salon, asking for her opinion.
