The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 359

After boarding the flight, Winona settled into her first-class seat and switched her phone to airplane mode.

As the plane took off, she closed her eyes, planning to get some sleep. Suddenly, the sharp wail of a crying child pierced the quiet cabin.

A mother was holding the toddler, whispering gently, desperately trying to coax the child into calming down.

Winona simply put in her earplugs and went back to sleep.

But right as she was drifting off, loud, aggressive arguing jolted her awake. She pulled out an earplug and looked across the aisle.

A young, sharply dressed woman was loudly berating the mother holding the crying toddler.

The baby, who looked barely two years old, was terrified by the yelling and started shrieking even louder.

The mother, flush with embarrassment and anger, shot back, "This is my daughter's first time on a plane, and she's crying because she's scared. I already apologized for the noise, but babies cry—it's nature, not malicious intent. Could you please just show a little compassion?"

The young woman causing the scene was Karina Shepherd, Margaret's niece. The mother was Phoebe, a middle school teacher in the capital and Valor Bell's daughter-in-law.

Karina let out a venomous laugh. "This is a public space. Your brat is ruining my peace and quiet, so yeah, I have a problem with it. If you don't know how to keep a kid quiet, you shouldn't have bred in the first place. You're nothing to me, why the hell should I show you 'compassion'? Besides, dragging a kid this young onto a flight shows a complete lack of basic decency. Honestly, I pity the kid for having a mother like you. If we weren't in the air right now, I'd call security."

An older woman sitting nearby couldn't stand it anymore. She leaned over and scolded Karina. "Have a little understanding. Every parent has to travel with a child at some point. Young lady, surely someone in your family has kids. Under three years old, they just cry. It's impossible to completely control."

She continued, "If this were an eight-year-old throwing a tantrum on purpose, I'd agree with you. But the baby is tiny. What exactly are you fighting a baby for?"

Karina glared at the older woman. "Oh, so you're the saint and I'm the villain? If you want to play Mother Teresa, go ahead! I'm just defending my right to a quiet flight. This is exactly what's wrong with society today—the most shameless people have kids, refuse to raise them right, and then demand the rest of us tolerate their noise. Kids raised by parents like this always grow up to be absolute trash."

Winona looked at Phoebe. "My grandfather was an expert in natural medicine, and I picked up a few holistic remedies over the years. Your baby isn't just crying to cry—she's suffering from severe colic and indigestion. If you trust me, I can use a targeted acupressure technique to relieve the pressure."

Phoebe hesitated for only a second before nodding desperately.

Winona asked Phoebe to hold the baby's arm steady. Finding a very specific reflexology point on the child's finger, Winona applied firm, targeted pressure.

Within minutes, the baby's shrieks turned into whimpers, and the terrifying redness in her face began to fade.

Phoebe could feel her daughter's rigid muscles relaxing. She looked up at Winona, practically glowing with gratitude. "Thank you so much."

Winona smiled warmly. "My younger cousin used to get terrible indigestion and cry for hours, but a little acupressure always helped. Just try not to overfeed her—stick to scheduled feedings and keep her around seventy percent full. If she has trouble digesting, infant massage works wonders, and make sure she gets plenty of outdoor activity."
