Camille felt it would be a massive waste if Winona stopped working in R&D. Her brilliance could bring Locke Group unimaginable profits.
Yulen answered without a second thought, "I don't think Winona is suited for working."
Camille stared at him. "Why?"
"Because she belongs at home. The outside world is far too complex and cutthroat; she'll just get bullied. I simply want to protect her."
Even though Yulen was her brother, Camille couldn't help but find his perspective incredibly arrogant and suffocating.
Still, at the end of the day, Camille spoiled him.
There were plenty of talented R&D developers out there anyway. If Yulen insisted on keeping Winona locked away at home, so be it.
Sylvan hadn't planned on paying any attention to Winona's presentation, but the sheer depth of her insights dragged him in against his will.
As she finished, a nagging suspicion crept into his mind: Was she just reciting a script written by Jericho Harper? How could someone so young deliver content with that much academic weight?
Winona wrapped up her speech and walked confidently back to her seat.
Sheldon smiled warmly. "That was a spectacular presentation."
Winona replied modestly, "Thank you."
Zack stared at her, his eyes practically turning into heart emojis.
That was his goddess. Only she could deliver such highly complex technical concepts with such effortless brilliance.
Camille suddenly received a text message. Her brows knit tightly together. She turned to Yulen. "There's an emergency at the company. We have to leave immediately."
Yulen glanced longingly at Winona, clearly torn.
He had been planning to wait until the summit was over to invite her to dinner.
Camille snapped in a low voice, "Don't you dare ignore the company for Winona. Now is not the time to act like a spoiled child."
Yulen sighed in defeat and followed her out the door.
However, right before leaving, he sent Winona a text message, praising how beautiful she looked tonight.
Winona never even bothered to open the message, so she had no idea what he said.
Not long after Yulen left, Stefan entered the venue.
He was the finale guest speaker of the evening.
Standing right in the center, Winona and Stefan were completely visually arresting.
Even the photographer was captivated by how they looked through the lens. He couldn't help but think: *If you didn't know better, you'd think these two were newlyweds, and the VIPs around them were just their wedding party.*
Watching Winona completely maneuver her way into the center spot right next to Stefan, Sylvan curled his lip in utter disgust.
Meanwhile, sitting in the back of a luxury town car, Camille checked her phone and saw the summit's group photo featuring Winona and Stefan in a prominent business chat.
Terrified that seeing it would make Yulen cancel his upcoming out-of-town business trip, she quickly texted his assistant: "Do not let Mr. Locke see the photos from tonight's summit."
The assistant replied: "Understood."
Back at home, Tallulah was lounging in bed, resting for her pregnancy.
Eating fresh fruit brought by the housekeeper, she was mindlessly scrolling through short videos on her phone.
Suddenly, she stumbled across the live stream of the Pharmaceutical Summit.
Winona had actually gone on stage to give a keynote speech, and was now taking center-stage photos with industry titans!
The live chat was flooded with comments praising her beauty and brilliance, with people calling her and Stefan a golden couple.
