The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 998
Max received IV fluids all morning and his condition improved significantly. The doctor prescribed him some new medication and gave him further instructions. Tommy dropped off some lunch. After they finished eating and left the hospital, Max prepared to head to the airport.
"Can't Daddy stay until he's fully recovered before leaving?" Anne asked, looking up at him with concern.
Max took Anne's hand. "I will come back as soon as I’m done with work."
"Then you must make sure to eat well and sleep well. You can't get sick again."
"I know." As he spoke, he looked up at the woman standing nearby.
Felicia met his gaze, but the man remained silent. "Have a safe trip," she said.
He kept staring at her in silence, clearly unconvinced by this single sentence.
Felicia let out a quiet sigh. "You heard what the doctor said. Take your medicine on time, don't drink alcohol, and get plenty of rest."
"And?" Max asked.
Felicia's beautiful eyes darkened slightly. She paused for a moment before adding, "Make sure to eat well."
"Do you truly mean that?" Max asked.
Felicia really wanted to kick him directly in the leg. But seeing Anne staring at her with wide eyes, she held back. "I mean it."
Max raised an eyebrow. "You'd better."
Felicia remained speechless.
"Remember to call or text me if anything happens," he continued. "And answer my calls promptly."
Felicia looked at him. He seemed completely oblivious to the fact that they were now divorced.
Max seemed to read her mind. "As for the issues between us, we'll deal with them properly when I return. In the meantime, you'd better not get any other ideas." He placed heavy emphasis on the last sentence.
"If I were afraid of something, do you think I'd still allow you anywhere near Felicia? You two are already divorced," Darin replied, stressing the final word heavily.
Silence fell over the line for a few seconds. "What's the matter?" Max finally asked.
Judging by his tone, Darin could guess that the two of them hadn't gotten along too terribly over the past couple of days. "It's nothing. If you don't come back soon, you'll give Holden enough room to breathe."
Max let out a cold laugh. "What kind of waves could he possibly make now?"
Darin didn't say much else. The two exchanged a few brief words, with Darin knowing Max was currently on his way to the airport.
"Let's leave it at that," Darin said, preparing to hang up.
"You'd better have a serious talk with Jeremy and make him go back," Max suddenly interjected.
"Where he goes is his freedom," Darin replied. "I have no right to interfere. If you're so confident, why are you afraid of him? Anyway, this is your problem. Handle it yourself." Without waiting for Max to say anything else, he hung up.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
