The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 978
"Darin." A voice broke the silence of the corridor.
The three men looked up. Savannah sat right next to Darin, who stared at her in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
She was originally supposed to head to Cloudville today but changed her mind at the last minute, deciding not to follow Heather and Uncle Greg. As for how she knew Darin was here, a friend picking up a prescription had spotted them and given her a call. She smiled softly. "It just goes to show we are meant to be. We run into each other everywhere." Darin withdrew his gaze and fell silent. Savannah spoke again. "Whenever you have time, we can go visit Felicia together."
Watching this unfold, Wyatt instantly understood the dynamic and smiled. "Should we give you two some privacy?"
Savannah looked past Darin to greet Wyatt. "There is no need for that." She and Wyatt were not particularly close, but they had crossed paths a few times through Jeremy, making them acquaintances. "You probably have not had dinner yet. My treat then."
Wyatt glanced at the silent Darin. "Well, Savannah, if you insist."
"Alright, I will order right now." Savannah did not bother asking Darin for his preference and completely ignored Kennedy. After placing the delivery order, she finally asked, "What happened to Max?"
Wyatt replied, "He was just too exhausted. His body could not handle it anymore."
Savannah glanced toward the hospital room. "So there are times when even the great Max cannot hold on."
"He is human, not some immortal god," Wyatt noted.
The two conversed right over Darin, who suddenly stood up. "I am going in to check on him."
Watching Darin disappear behind the ward door, Wyatt asked curiously, "What is his situation with Felicia right now?"
Inside the room, Max had already fallen asleep. He looked pushed to his absolute limit. Darin stood guard by the bed, watching the IV drip. Half an hour later, Darin pressed the call button for the nurse.
Savannah pushed the door open and announced to the men inside, "The food is here."
Darin looked back at her. He seemed about to say something but eventually just murmured, "Give me a minute." Savannah watched him open and close his mouth, guessing he had wanted to claim he was not hungry. At least he had a little bit of a conscience. The nurse came in and replaced the IV bag.
Darin stepped out of the room to find that Wyatt and Kennedy had already left. Savannah opened the takeout containers, revealing a rich seafood risotto. Darin took the box, picked up the spoon provided, and took a bite.
"You had better steer clear of Kennedy," Savannah warned. "He used to be Max's lackey, and he has done plenty to make Felicia's life difficult. You should know that better than anyone."

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
