Felicia moved into her new residence at Harlow Heights. The ninth floor featured two spacious units directly across from each other. Tommy had conveniently rented out the second unit, making him her new neighbor. He carried her luggage into the apartment and set it down by the door.
"Evelynn, I'll hire a professional live-in nanny for you tomorrow," Tommy offered.
"I will make the arrangements myself. You can just handle getting them settled in when the time comes," Felicia replied softly.
"Alright. Make sure you get some rest tonight, Evelynn."
"I will."
Tommy turned and left the apartment, pulling the door shut behind him. Felicia wheeled her suitcase into the bedroom. The space was completely spotless. She unpacked methodically, hanging her clothes neatly in the wardrobe and organizing her skincare products in the bathroom. Once she was finished, an overwhelming wave of exhaustion crashed over her. She collapsed onto the bed, staring blankly at the unfamiliar ceiling as the glowing lights blurred in her unfocused eyes.
She barely slept that night. The strange environment and the unfamiliar scent of the new bedding kept her tossing and turning until dawn.
The following day, she went to the department store and bought a brand new set of Egyptian cotton sheets and a lightweight duvet. Afterward, she attended an appointment with a highly respected specialist at a top-tier maternity hospital.
After completing her examination, the doctor reviewed her medical reports, checked her pulse, and looked at her with a grim expression. "You are suffering from severe physical and emotional exhaustion. Your stress levels are critically impacting your digestive and immune systems. You cannot keep bottling up your emotions like this. Whatever is weighing on you, whether it is work or your personal life, you need to let it go. You must prioritize your health. If you remain this emotionally blocked, all the medicine in the world won't save you."
"I am trying my best to manage my stress right now. I have even stopped taking my usual medications," Felicia explained quietly.
The doctor glanced back at the charts. "Right now, your vital metrics are completely below the necessary baselines for a healthy pregnancy. If you are determined to keep this baby, I can prescribe some specialized supplements. Try resting and taking them for a week. If your numbers do not show significant improvement by then, I strongly advise proceeding with a medical termination."
Felicia's fingers curled into tight fists in her lap. "I understand," she whispered.
As the doctor wrote out her prescriptions, he offered some final advice. "Many of these complications are directly triggered by emotional distress. You must find peace of mind. Stay as far away as possible from anyone or anything that causes you emotional turbulence. The baby is secondary right now. Your own health and happiness are what matter most."
"Thank you, Doctor. I know."
The doctor handed her the prescription slip. Felicia thanked him one last time before leaving the hospital and catching a cab straight to the office.
The moment the word left her lips, she heard the distinct click of a door opening on the other end of the line.
"Daddy!" Anne cheered brightly.
Felicia's heart plummeted into her stomach.
"Daddy, it's Mommy on the phone!" Anne scrambled off the bed and ran over to Max, holding up her smart watch.
Max glanced at the screen, reached out to take the device, and said softly, "Go play for a bit, sweetie."
"Okay!" Anne giggled, happily scurrying out of the room so her parents could talk.
Felicia listened to the sudden, suffocating silence that fell over the line. Her grip on her phone grew white-knuckled.

Take her back? Want to see her?? Donno about Felicia but I think I’m falling for this Max somehow🫠🙈pls update daily...
I knew it! Hopefully Felicia's health will improve and will want to have the baby. Oh how I despise Max's family....
Please post *I forgot I ever loved you*...
Is this coming to an end...
Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
