Back at the apartment, Tatiana finally coaxed Anne to sleep. Stepping out of the bedroom, she saw Max sitting in the living room, deeply engrossed in his work.
She walked over. "Max, it is getting late. You were just discharged today, so you should get some rest."
Max did not lift his gaze from his screen. "I am fine. You go ahead and sleep, Mom."
Tatiana let out a soft sigh. She sat down beside him and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, her voice laced with concern. "Max, don't make me worry. No matter how urgent your work is, you need to prioritize your health first."
Max fell silent for a moment. Turning his head, he met his mother's eyes and asked, "Have you looked for Felicia at all recently?"
Meeting her son's dark, penetrating gaze, Tatiana's heart inexplicably seized. However, she maintained her composure, her expression perfectly natural. "You were in such a critical condition. Do you really think I had the time or mood to worry about what she was doing?"
As she spoke, she closely monitored her son's reaction. Though he appeared entirely calm, Felicia's complete lack of contact had undoubtedly planted seeds of resentment in his heart. He was a proud man. Perhaps this ordeal would finally make him see Felicia for who she truly was.
"Since she hasn't bothered to come see you, it just proves that she doesn't really care about you. You don't need to keep holding on to her, Max. There are plenty of women in this world far better than she is."
Max withdrew his gaze. His sharp, handsome profile seemed even more severe, the lines of his gaunt face hardening. "Go get some rest, Mom."
Tatiana worried about his health, but seeing his darkened expression, she ultimately swallowed the rest of her words. "Just finish up quickly and get some sleep."
The next day, Max arrived at the company. Seeing him return completely unharmed, the crushing pressure that had weighed on the senior executives for days finally lifted. However, the oppressive, commanding aura radiating from him was stronger than ever, inspiring a deep sense of awe and intimidation.
"There should be a backup on your computer."
Max placed his hand on the mouse and pulled up the document. It was fifteen pages long, incredibly detailed, structured, and highly effective. This was the kind of comprehensive strategy that typically required an entire team to develop, yet she had drafted the entire thing completely on her own.
Meanwhile, it was four in the morning in Cloudville.
Felicia woke up and lay in bed, entirely unable to fall back asleep. She eventually got up, washed her face, and headed into the kitchen to make some breakfast. She was temporarily staying in Max's luxurious penthouse. She hadn't given any prior notice, so there was no nanny to prepare anything for her.
She opened the refrigerator, took out two eggs, and decided to make herself a simple meal.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
