The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 874
Felicia and Jeremy finally returned to the city. Since Felicia was utterly exhausted, she opted out of joining the men for dinner. Jeremy drove her straight to the entrance of her residential complex.
Darin was already standing near the gate, waiting for them. The moment the car rolled to a stop, he stepped forward and opened the passenger door for her.
Felicia stepped out into the evening air.
"Did you have a good time?" Darin asked gently.
Felicia glanced up at him and offered a slight nod before walking around to the trunk. Jeremy helped unload the bags she had purchased. There were three bags in total, none particularly heavy, filled mostly with local specialty snacks and small souvenirs. Felicia took the bags, thanked Jeremy softly, and turned to walk straight into the complex.
Jeremy looked at Darin. "She is exhausted. Just let her go back and rest."
Darin withdrew his gaze and nodded quietly. He walked around to the passenger side and got into the car. Noticing a small trinket resting on the dashboard, he picked it up, rolling it between his fingers. "Did you just buy this?"
"Felicia bought it," Jeremy replied smoothly.
Darin placed the trinket exactly where he found it. He let out a faint smirk but chose not to say anything else.
Upstairs, Felicia walked into her apartment, and the nanny immediately hurried over to relieve her of the bags. Savannah was lounging on the sofa, watching television. Seeing Felicia walk in, she smiled.
"welcome back. How was the trip?"
Felicia dragged herself over to the sofa, sinking into the cushions with a long, heavy sigh. "It was really fun, but I am absolutely drained."
The nanny set the bags down on the coffee table.
"What did you buy?" Savannah asked curiously.
"Anne did not answer," Felicia murmured, setting the tablet aside.
Savannah sighed knowingly. "It must have been someone from the Hawthorne family who saw it and hung up on you. Right now, only Max and Anne want to talk to you. The rest of them probably just want you to cut ties with Max completely."
"You are probably right," Felicia agreed quietly.
Before going to sleep that night, an inexplicable sense of dread settled heavily over Felicia's chest. She lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, completely unable to drift off. Frustrated, she sat up, grabbed her phone from the nightstand, and sent a message directly to Max: What is Anne doing today?
Leaning back against the headboard, she waited. Ten minutes passed, then fifteen, but Max never replied. Eventually, she gave up, tossing the phone aside and forcing herself to lie back down. She was physically exhausted, yet her mind refused to quiet down. She tossed and turned, completely unaware of when exhaustion finally dragged her into sleep.
When she woke up the next morning, the very first thing she did was check her phone. The message she had sent Max still sat there, unanswered. Her expression darkened considerably. After a moment of heavy silence, she dialed his number.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
