The weekend arrived the next morning. Felicia finished getting ready and opened her front door, only to find Darin already leaning against the hallway wall, waiting for her.
Seeing her step out, Darin smiled and raised a hand in greeting. "Good morning, sister."
Felicia instinctively frowned at the overly familiar address. Darin acted as if he had not noticed her displeasure at all.
"Let’s go," Darin said smoothly. "The timing is just about right."
Felicia offered him a brief glance before retracting her gaze, choosing to remain silent as she followed him down to his car. The wedding banquet was being held at a suburban ecological manor, which was about an hour away by car.
Throughout the drive, Felicia kept her eyes fixed on the scenery rolling past the window. Darin struck up conversation periodically, completely undeterred by her cold and dismissive attitude. He seemed to genuinely enjoy the effort.
During the ride, Savannah called Felicia's phone.
"Felicia, where are you planning to go for fun this weekend?" Savannah asked brightly.
"I am attending the wedding of an elder's grandson today," Felicia replied.
"Are you going alone?"
Felicia hesitated for a moment. "I am with someone else."
Savannah instantly deduced who she meant and lowered her voice slightly. "So you two are together right now?"
Felicia murmured a soft note of confirmation. Savannah did not press the issue further, easily shifting the topic.
"By the way, Jeremy and I are coming over this Wednesday. He is doing a formal work inspection, but I am mainly coming to keep you company so you do not get bored all by yourself."
Felicia smiled warmly. "That sounds wonderful."
"When are we going up to the Capital to attend your wedding banquets?"
Although they were technically relatives, to Felicia, these people were complete strangers. She felt deeply uncomfortable with such overwhelming, invasive enthusiasm from people she barely knew. Darin, however, handled the barrage of questions with perfect grace and polite evasion. Sensing Felicia's growing discomfort, he quickly presented their gift, made a polite excuse, and guided her away from the crowd. Since there was still some time before the banquet officially started, he decided to take her for a walk around the grounds.
As they walked away, one of the bridesmaids, who happened to be the bride's younger sister, stared dreamily at Darin's retreating back. She excitedly grabbed her sister's arm, her face flushed red.
"Do you think someone could introduce us later?" she whispered frantically.
The bride smiled at her sister. "I will ask around for you later."
Meanwhile, Darin and Felicia strolled through the surrounding area. There were quite a few banquets being held at the manor today.
"It is rare to attend a wedding banquet like this. It is quite lively," Darin remarked softly. It was not a ridiculously extravagant display of wealth typical of elite corporate marriages, but this kind of ordinary wedding felt far more grounded and full of genuine life.

Take her back? Want to see her?? Donno about Felicia but I think I’m falling for this Max somehow🫠🙈pls update daily...
I knew it! Hopefully Felicia's health will improve and will want to have the baby. Oh how I despise Max's family....
Please post *I forgot I ever loved you*...
Is this coming to an end...
Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
