Max arrived at the Capital Convention Center. As he stepped out of his car, he happened to cross paths with Jeremy. Max took the initiative to offer a slight nod. Stepping forward, he extended a hand with refined politeness. "Mr. Milman."
Through his glasses, Jeremy cast a cold, indifferent glance at Max before looking away. With zero intention of shaking hands, he simply walked right past Max to greet someone approaching from the opposite direction.
"Mr. Milman, it has been a while."
"Long time no see."
Jeremy warmly shook hands with the other executive, exchanging pleasantries. Completely ignored, Max showed no trace of embarrassment. He smoothly retracted his hand, a faint, almost imperceptible smirk playing on his lips.
Another attendee walked over to greet Max. He turned and exchanged a few polite words, keeping the atmosphere perfectly harmonious. However, the scene of Jeremy ignoring Max had not gone unnoticed by the onlookers. Everyone knew about the bitter rivalry between BlueMarble Investments and Roen Capital. In public settings, Max and Jeremy rarely interacted beyond necessity. Max offering a greeting first was surprising enough, but Jeremy blatantly refusing to give him even an ounce of face was entirely out of character for the usually polite professor. The group of executives then proceeded into the venue.
As Jeremy and Max made their entrance, numerous attendees stepped forward to shake hands and exchange greetings, many expressing their condolences and concern regarding Max's recent accident. Wyatt, attending the event in his capacity as the head of the government's commerce department, also approached them.
"How have things been lately?" Wyatt asked.
"Quite good," Max replied.
Wyatt smiled, his expression loaded with hidden meaning. "Is that right? Well, good is good."
"What is with that tone?" Max frowned.
"Is there something wrong with my tone?" Wyatt feigned innocence. "Maybe I just didn't sleep well last night. My brat was making a fuss. You know how it is, the troubles of having a second child."
Max narrowed his eyes at him. "You look pretty happy to me. Why don't you hurry up and pop out a few more?"
Hearing this, Wyatt immediately deduced that Max still had no idea about Felicia's pregnancy. If he knew, there was no way he would have held back from throwing it in Wyatt's face. Choosing to keep the secret, Wyatt said nothing more and merely offered a light, amused shrug.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
