Downstairs, Darin and Greg sat in the living room.
"What do you think of Max and Felicia?" Greg asked.
"It all depends on them. After all, they share Anne, and Felicia is pregnant with his child now," Darin replied.
Greg sighed. "Whether Felicia can keep the baby in her womb depends on the final checkup results next month. I think Max did it on purpose back then, trying to use the child to tie Felicia down, knowing full well what her condition was. To be honest, I don't want to see them get back together. Aside from being a good father to Anne, his behavior is erratic. He simply can't be a good husband."
Listening to Greg's words, Darin fell silent. His words were not without reason. Max's past behavior remained vivid in his mind. Even if the man had truly changed now, it wasn't enough to shoulder the role of a husband.
"We can only let nature take its course and see what happens," Darin said, his hands clenching into fists with a firm tone. "But this time, I will definitely protect her."
Greg saw the regret in his eyes and couldn't bring himself to say anything more. "By the way, what did Felicia give him?" It seemed Max had come specifically to get it.
"It was the amulet Felicia requested for him earlier. No matter what, if something happened to him, Anne would be the one hurt the most," Greg explained. He had just asked Felicia, and she hadn't hidden it.
Darin nodded. At that moment, he received a phone call. He glanced at the screen and said to Greg, "I'm going back to my room first."
Greg hummed in acknowledgment. Darin had been staying here for the past two days, and Ava hadn't said anything against it.
The next day, Max went to the cathedral early in the morning. He met with Father Lawrence and asked some detailed questions about the blessing ritual Felicia had performed back then.
After leaving the cathedral, Max got into his car. He didn't drive away immediately. Instead, he leaned back against the seat, falling into a quiet silence. It was hard to tell what he was thinking deep down.
An unknown amount of time passed before his phone vibrated. It was a call from Anne.
Max chuckled. "Focus on school first. I will come pick you up this afternoon."
"Okay," Anne agreed.
After hanging up, Max drove away.
There was a major conference at ten in the morning. Isaac knocked and entered the office, handing the proposal submitted by the Rock family to him. The moment he walked in, he could clearly sense that Mr. Hawthorne was different today. His complexion didn't look as dark and terrifying as usual. Isaac didn't know what had happened overnight to bring about such a huge change, but it was highly likely because of Felicia. He reported on his work and the agenda for the upcoming meeting.
After driving Anne to school, Felicia went to Ivy's art gallery to view the exhibition. It was good to nourish her eyes and her mind. Jeremy couldn't come today as he had other matters to attend to. Upon arriving, she waited outside for Ava to bring Sean over. Ava now poured all her energy into the children and taking care of Felicia. She hadn't been out much for a long time. They planned to attend an auction in the afternoon right after the exhibition.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Ava arrived, placing baby Sean in his stroller. Felicia walked up and smiled. "Mom, let's go in."

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
