Before she could get a closer look, Jeremy asked her a question. She quickly pulled her gaze away, firmly shutting the front door, and guided him toward the living room.
Greg was in the parlor watching the evening news while chatting idly with Colton. Ava was currently upstairs putting little Sean to bed. Seeing Jeremy enter, Colton stood up to offer a warm and enthusiastic greeting. "Jeremy, my boy. Have you had dinner yet?"
Jeremy handed his gift bag to the passing nanny. It was filled with premium medicinal herbs intended to nourish Felicia's health. He stepped forward with a polite smile. "Yes, I ate earlier, thank you."
Colton chuckled, gesturing to the bag. "You know you are always welcome here. You do not need to bring gifts every time you visit."
"I specifically asked a friend to procure these," Jeremy explained warmly. "They are excellent for restoring Felicia's vitality."
Colton's grin widened. A kind, accomplished man like this would make the perfect son-in-law. "Felicia is truly lucky to have a friend like you in her life," Colton boomed with a hearty laugh.
Secretly, Colton was counting his blessings that the Hawthorne family had forced the divorce. Felicia and Jeremy were a match made in heaven. "Come on in, have a seat," Colton urged, gesturing to the velvet sofa.
Jeremy settled onto the couch while Felicia excused herself. "I will go prepare some tea and snacks. You guys go ahead and chat."
She turned and headed straight for the kitchen. Jeremy struck up a conversation with Greg. He had been quite busy lately coordinating with a specialist friend to acquire those rare supplements for Felicia's pregnancy, which had fortunately arrived just in time. Sensing that the two men were about to dive into business matters, Colton politely excused himself and followed his daughter into the kitchen.
"Felicia," he began softly.
Felicia was boiling water for the herbal calming tea. She glanced over her shoulder. "Yes, Dad. Do you need something?"
Colton stepped closer, his voice low and earnest. "Sweetheart, I really think Jeremy is a wonderful man. It is obvious he has feelings for you. Now that your divorce is finalized, you have your whole life ahead of you. You are going to need someone reliable to share it with."
Felicia stiffened slightly. "Dad, I am currently pregnant with Max's child."
Jeremy nodded slowly.
A brief silence fell over the room. Greg finally voiced his concerns. "I know you likely do not mind the circumstances, but it is undoubtedly a massive psychological burden for Felicia. She is absolutely determined to keep this baby."
From Jeremy's gentle patience, Greg knew the man's feelings were crystal clear, even if they had not been formally declared yet.
"I understand exactly what you are saying," Jeremy reassured him with a soft smile. "Do not worry. I would never dream of forcing her into anything. She needs time to heal, and I am more than willing to wait as long as it takes."
Greg trusted Jeremy implicitly. Deep down, he desperately hoped Felicia would eventually open her heart to the doctor. He was, without question, the best possible future for her.
Just then, Felicia walked back into the room carrying a tray of steaming tea and delicate pastries. The two men seamlessly shifted their conversation, diving into the logistics of an upcoming corporate project as if they had been discussing it the entire time.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
