Felicia lowered her phone, grabbed her purse, and stood up to head toward the lobby doors. As she brushed past Max, his hand shot out, wrapping securely around her wrist. She stopped in her tracks. Turning her head, she looked up at the man standing beside her. She did not struggle or try to yank her hand away in a fit of emotion. Instead, she asked in a perfectly calm tone. "Is there something else you need?"
Max stared at her excessively slender wrist, feeling as though he could snap it with just a fraction of his strength. His eyes locked onto hers. "Come back with me," he demanded.
Felicia met his gaze, her voice steady and resolute. "You need to go back and take proper care of Anne. What she needs right now is a stable, peaceful environment."
"So you know full well she needs a peaceful environment," he countered.
"Do you really think the two of us being together right now will give her any sense of peace?" she fired back.
Max's dark eyes bore into her. "Then what exactly do you think will make her feel secure?"
Felicia let out a heavy breath and lowered her eyes, breaking the intense contact. "I do not want to argue with you. You need to go home and get some proper rest."
She still did not struggle or try to pull her hand back, simply waiting for him to let go on his own. But the man's grip remained ironclad. The air around them seemed to grow suffocatingly heavy.
Right at that moment, the phone in her hand began to vibrate. She glanced at the screen and saw Jeremy's name. Max's dark eyes narrowed dangerously. Felicia answered the call with one hand, slowly bringing the phone to her ear. "Jeremy," she said softly.
"Are you finished?" Jeremy asked from the other end.
"Yes, I am getting ready to head back," Felicia replied.
"Good. You must be exhausted after the last few days. Are you feeling okay?" Jeremy inquired with gentle concern.
"I am fine," she assured him.
"Felicia, is everything alright?" Jeremy called out, worried by her sudden silence.
Felicia blinked and tore her gaze away from the entrance. "It is nothing. Let’s talk later, Jeremy. I am heading home now."
"Alright," he agreed.
Just then, Dean walked into the lobby. Spotting Felicia, he quickly hurried over to her side. "Ms. Ross, are you alright?"
"I am fine. Let’s go," she said.
They walked out of the hospital and got into the car. When Felicia arrived home, Ava had specially prepared a nutritious, restorative soup for her.

Take her back? Want to see her?? Donno about Felicia but I think I’m falling for this Max somehow🫠🙈pls update daily...
I knew it! Hopefully Felicia's health will improve and will want to have the baby. Oh how I despise Max's family....
Please post *I forgot I ever loved you*...
Is this coming to an end...
Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
