The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1005
"I'll ask her tonight, then," Darin said.
Felicia looked away, deciding not to press the issue any further. Darin glanced at her, pressed his lips together, and then stared at the wall, his hands stuffed into his pockets. He looked slightly anxious.
The elevator arrived. Darin followed Felicia out and into the office, where she pointed out Jeremy's room.
"Alright, you go ahead and get back to work, Felicia," Darin said.
Felicia pushed the door open and walked into her own office. She had just sat down at her desk when her assistant knocked on the door. Setting the gift bag aside, she called out, "Come in."
The assistant walked in. "I've compiled this data report for you to review."
Felicia reached out and took it. As she flipped through the pages and immersed herself in her work, she completely pushed the thought of Max's gift to the back of her mind.
It was almost time to get off work when Jeremy knocked and entered. Darin was standing in the doorway as well.
"Are you finished with work for the day?" Jeremy asked.
"Just about," Felicia replied.
"Alright, we'll wait for you downstairs," Jeremy said. "We can go grab dinner in a bit."
"Okay."
Jeremy and Darin headed downstairs first. Half an hour later, Felicia finished up, packed her things, and took the elevator down. It wasn't until she stepped into the lobby that she realized she had forgotten the gift bag.
"Felicia," Jeremy called out.
Felicia looked over at them. Well, leaving it in the office was probably fine. She walked toward them.
Dinner was booked at a niche restaurant by Darin. Heather had also arrived with Anne and Yara.
"Hi, Anne," Darin said, greeting the little girl.
"Uncle Darin," Anne replied sweetly.
Darin leaned down and scooped Anne up into his arms. He turned to the others. "Let's go inside." And with that, he carried Anne into the restaurant.
Heather walked up beside Felicia and asked in a low voice, "Where's Savannah? Didn't she say she was coming with Darin?"
Felicia looked at Darin's back. "He came by himself."
Before Darin could say anything else, Savannah hung up the phone.
Darin lowered his phone and stared at the screen. He took a deep breath, slipped the phone back into his pocket, and returned to the private room. The other three had already ordered.
"Was that Savannah?" Jeremy asked.
Darin hummed in agreement.
"What did she say?"
Darin picked up his teacup and took a sip. "Nothing."
Felicia watched him. Darin set his teacup down and met her gaze before quickly looking away. He turned to Jeremy. "Have you all ordered?"
"We have. Is there anything else you'd like?"
"I'm fine with whatever."
Halfway through the meal, another call came in.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
