The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 108

Every now and then, Gwendolyn would use serving utensils to put food on Kian's plate as well.

This completely caught Kian off guard, leaving him sitting stiffly in his chair, overwhelmed by the maternal gesture.

Gwendolyn set the silverware down. In her eyes, no matter how extraordinary these two were, they were still just kids.

Meanwhile, the doctor from earlier hadn't left; he practically glued himself to Kian's side, eagerly asking medical questions. Every piece of advice Kian offered was more valuable than a decade of medical school.

Two hours later, Matilda woke up exactly as predicted. Kian went in to check her vitals, and after confirming everything was stable, he finally took his leave.

The entire Jagger family practically showered Juno with gratitude.

While Kaelen was the eldest sibling in the Jagger family, the second brother, Jeremy, was much more tactful and capable. He approached Juno with a warm smile. "You must be Juno. I wanted to visit you the second you came back, but your mother was worried about overwhelming you, so I held off. If you ever need anything, just come to your Uncle Jeremy. I can make almost any problem disappear."

He genuinely liked Juno. From the very first moment he saw her, he felt a fond connection, and he had no idea why his older brother was so weirdly hostile towards her.

Juno greeted him smoothly. "Uncle Jeremy."

A massive smile spread across Jeremy's face. "There we go."

Once they were absolutely sure Matilda was fine, everyone finally headed home.

...

It was the weekend, and the Corringtons were all busy with their own routines.

Sienna Langley and her father suddenly showed up for an unannounced visit.

Gwendolyn took one look at Sienna's bruised and swollen face and raised an eyebrow, a massive headache already forming. She was eighty percent sure Juno was responsible for this.

Aside from Babur, Juno was the only one in the family who settled things with her fists.

She really wondered if those two kids would ever learn to stop brawling.

Gwendolyn personally went to the kitchen and poured some fresh juice for the Langley family.

She set the glasses on the coffee table. Before she could even sit down and politely ask why they had dropped by, Larry Langley opened fire like a Gatling gun.
