The maids lingering in the living room couldn't help but snicker, barely managing to hold back their laughter.
Ever since Ms. Mercer moved in, things around the house had gotten infinitely more entertaining.
Gwendolyn asked, "Why did you hit her?"
"She deserved it."
Juno casually picked up Gwendolyn's glass of juice and took a sip.
Larry nearly jumped out of his skin in sheer rage. What did she mean, she 'deserved it'?!
Juno continued, "Mr. Langley, before you came storming over here, did you bother asking your daughter what she did? Or do you just assume that if someone hits your kid, it must automatically be the other person's fault?"
Larry's face twisted into an ugly scowl. Was Juno seriously lecturing him on how to parent?!
But inside the Corrington estate, he couldn't just throw a tantrum. He turned to Sienna. "Why did she hit you?!"
Sienna's mouth was heavily swollen, and her eyes darted around evasively. She mumbled and stammered, but couldn't seem to string together a coherent sentence.
Larry was just about to lose his temper when Juno interrupted. "She's so guilty she can't even speak straight. Where did you get the nerve to come to the Corrington house demanding answers?"
The incident had happened just yesterday. Juno had gone to the mall, simply wanting to inspect the quality of customer service at a physical YG boutique.
She walked into the store and browsed the racks. When a sales associate approached to offer suggestions, she simply said, "I'd like to browse by myself."
The associate immediately stepped back, completely respecting the customer's wishes.
A few moments later, a woman bundled up so tightly she was practically incognito walked in. A sales associate immediately greeted her. "How can I help you today?"
Juno retreated to a quiet corner and sat down.
Another associate brought over a platter of fresh fruit and placed it right next to Juno's hand.
The bundled-up woman seemed eager to avoid conversation. She randomly pointed at a few pieces. "I'll take all of these."
"Right away."
The associate immediately rushed off to package the items.
Unfortunately, at that exact moment, Sienna Langley and a clique of her friends strolled into the store, laughing and chatting loudly.
As soon as she walked in, Sienna spotted the exact dress the other woman had just purchased. She quickly stopped the associate from packing it up. "Hold on. Do you have any more of this piece in stock?"
The associate shook her head politely. "I'm sorry, Miss. We're completely sold out here. There might be some at other locations. If you'd like, I can make some calls and have one transferred over."
