Chapter 80
She paused and added, “Give me a call when you get here. I’ll be in the restroom.”
Vivian hung up, a strange wave of relief washing over her.
She had to admit that in the face of absolute power, her confidence crumbled.
If Jonah decided to drag her out of there by force, she would be completely defenseless.
The seconds ticked by agonizingly slowly.
The cramped space of the stall should have offered a moment to think, but instead, it only magnified the gnawing anxiety in her chest.
Vivian paced the small floor, rhythmically tapping her phone against her palm.
Where was he?
Silas Sterling, please don’t let me down.
A sudden knock at the door finally grounded her, soothing the frantic beating of her heart.
She rushed over and threw the door open, but the blood instantly drained from her face the second she saw the man standing in the hallway.
“You…”
“What’s wrong? Were you expecting someone else?”
Vivian shook her head, stumbling backward on pure instinct.
The man stepped inside, crowding her. With a sharp click, he shut the restroom door tightly
behind them.
Jonah reached up to adjust the glasses on the bridge of his nose. His predatory gaze locked onto her and, for some inexplicable reason, a slow smile curved his lips.
“Vivian, you truly are full of surprises.”
He had thought he had everything perfectly orchestrated, only to end up getting played by a
woman.
“I’m actually quite curious. When exactly did you figure it all out? Hmm?”
Now backed entirely into the corner, Vivian glared up at him, her eyes practically made of ice.
“Does it matter?”
“No, I suppose it doesn’t.”
Jonah tugged at his tie, loosening it. The refined, gentlemanly facade he usually wore began to slip.

Vivian knew this was the real him-the ruthless heir who reigned supreme and tolerated absolutely zero defiance from anyone.
“So, since you already know everything, what was the point of running all the way to Northside? Where exactly did you think you could hide?”
Jonah reached out, gripping her chin between his fingers. Putting everything else aside, her breathtaking beauty certainly gave her the leverage to act out.
He leaned in closer, his voice laced with venomous ice.
“Do you have any idea how effortless it is for me to track you down?”
Vivian knew that all too well.
It was the reason she hadn’t bothered trying to hide in the shadows.
She stood perfectly still, trapping her shaky breaths tightly in her chest as she asked, “What do you want from me?”
“Why would I want to hurt you?”
Jonah chuckled softly. “You’re my girlfriend, after all.”
“We’re completely over.”
“Did I agree to that?”
Vivian pressed her lips into a thin line. “A man of your immense wealth shouldn’t need me to spell this out for him, Mr. Granger,” she said coldly. “A breakup isn’t a business contract that requires mutual consent. I don’t want to be with you anymore, which means we are done.”
A mocking sneer tugged at the corner of Jonah’s mouth, silently laughing at her pathetic attempt at rebellion.
“You really think you can walk away from me without my permission?”
This man…
His arrogance was absolutely suffocating!
Vivian ground her teeth together. “Watch me!”
The second the words left her mouth, she drove her knee forcefully upward, aiming straight between his legs. Caught completely off guard, Jonah let out a sharp groan of pain.
Vivian ducked and scrambled toward the exit, but she underestimated his reflexes. She barely reached the door before a vice-like grip clamped down on her wrist.
“Vivian!”

Jonah’s face was livid. “I told you, I do not accept this breakup!”
Vivian opened her mouth to yell back, but a deep, resonant voice suddenly cut through the tension. “Cornering a woman like this, Mr. Granger… don’t you think that’s a bit beneath you?”
