Vivian's gaze hardened, a sliver of mockery crossing her lips.
Amara...
You really can't help yourself, can you?
She suppressed her rising emotions and spoke in a flat voice. "Mr. Caldwell, there's something behind you."
"Huh?" Julian had no patience for anything else; he just wanted to drag the beauty back to the room. "Forget about that, let's just get out of here first..."
Vivian didn't move, insisting, "There really is something."
"..."
Julian swallowed his annoyance and turned his head. "What the hell is—"
Before he could finish, a dark shadow flashed before his eyes, followed by a loud thud as he was knocked completely unconscious.
Zoe looked at the man slumped on the floor and gave him two solid kicks.
"What's the plan now, boss?"
"Take him to the hospital."
Vivian's voice was hoarse as she sneered. "Not only will I make him swallow this loss in silence, but I'll make him wear this so-called 'favor' like a target on his forehead."
Zoe understood her intention, but...
"What about you?"
"I should be fine. Just get this piece of trash to the hospital first. I'll make my own way back."
Since they had committed to this plan, she and Julian couldn't be seen together. If anyone snapped a single photo of them now, all their efforts would be ruined.
Though deeply worried, Zoe had no choice but to comply.
She figured she could dump this garbage at the ER and circle back to pick up Vivian in time.
But they had both severely underestimated the potency of the drug.
Not long after Zoe left, a cold sweat broke out across Vivian's entire body.
Sitting in her car, her hands haphazardly tugged at her collar, completely unaware of the red marks she was scratching into her own skin.
It was agonizing.
The sensation was absolute torture, crawling beneath her skin.
She took two staggering steps forward. Just before she completely lost consciousness, she murmured in a hoarse whisper, "Please... help me..."
Before the words fully left her mouth, her slender body collapsed toward him like a kite with a snapped string.
Sensing the movement, Silas instinctively reached out his hands.
"..."
In the blink of an eye, a woman was suddenly in his arms.
Simon, who had just finished parking the car, walked over and nearly jumped out of his skin at the sight.
What the hell!
His boss was actually holding a woman?
Wait!
Taking a closer look, wasn't this the stunning female executive from the private room yesterday?
While Simon was still reeling in shock, the man's dark voice broke the silence. "Can you see clearly enough? Or do you want to stand a little closer?"
