The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 418

Silas looked at her as if she were a lunatic. Frowning, he poked her forehead. "Can you think of something clean for once?"

"How is it not clean? My head is completely filled with you."

"..."

"If you don't believe me, listen."

With that, she yanked down the side of her top and pulled his hand to rest against her chest.

"..." The man's pitch-black pupils abruptly contracted. He lowered his head, the woman's bright, stunning face mere inches away. "Hear it? I didn't..."

Before she could finish, he firmly gripped the back of her neck, his kiss descending like a torrential storm.

This kiss, however, didn't last long.

Exactly, they were interrupted yet again.

Silas went into the bathroom. Vivian sat on the sofa with her arms crossed, her gorgeous face plastered with absolute annoyance.

Milton stood respectfully before her and said, "Miss, Marcus has requested you both downstairs."

"Just because he summons me doesn't mean I have to go."

She shot him an icy glare and scoffed. "It's bad enough he dragged me here, but now that Silas is here too, why should I listen to him?"

Milton's expression remained perfectly mild. "Marcus said that's fine if you don't want to go down. You can just stay locked up here for another two weeks. You won't starve, at least."

"..."

Marcus's original wording was undoubtedly much harsher than that. If Milton wasn't the messenger, Marcus would have likely doubled his enemies by now.

Vivian let out a heavy breath, gritting her teeth into a tight smile.

"Fine. He better not regret it."

As it turned out, Marcus never fought a battle he wasn't prepared for. Before they went downstairs, Milton issued another warning—

Vivian could not allow Old Mr. Vaughan to spot her, but she also couldn't completely avoid showing her face.

This demand was honestly...

But no matter how unreasonable it was, Vivian had to comply.
