Vivian didn't know when she fell asleep, but she woke up in bed the next day, assuming Silas had carried her over.
Well... it seemed their relationship was progressing quite well lately.
She rolled over, hugged the quilt, and took a deep breath, but she couldn't catch that familiar scent of his.
She frowned.
Did he not sleep with her?
Sitting up, Vivian ran a hand through her thick, long hair, scanning the room before going to wash up.
Downstairs.
Martha Gable was busy in the kitchen and poked her head out to say hello when she heard the noise.
"Where did Silas go?"
"He went to work."
"How was his mood?"
"I couldn't really... tell." Martha looked Vivian over. "Miss, did you and Mr. Sterling have another fight?"
When Vivian looked up, she quickly added, "I... I'm just asking casually. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
"We didn't fight."
Vivian sat sideways at the dining table and took a sip of water.
She spoke thoughtfully. "I just find it strange... What kind of personality does your boss actually have?"
He kept everything bottled up inside, making it impossible to read his thoughts through his words or actions.
Seeing that she probably wasn't going to get mad, Martha thought for a moment and said, "He probably... takes after his mother."
"His mother?"
A flicker of something crossed Vivian's eyes. "Tell me more."
"There's not much to tell, but he doesn't seem to get along well with many people. I've even heard them argue a couple of times." Her voice was very low. It was usually taboo for staff to gossip about their employers, but since Vivian wanted to hear it, she didn't mind sharing a bit more.
"Has the preparation for that show started?"
"Yes."
Zoe nodded. "Director Garrison has already finalized the execution plan, and a lot of people have approached us. The marketing team is also following up. Once we accumulate a few more collectibles, we can officially start filming."
Vivian's gaze darkened slightly. "The hype needs to be massive. Similar shows have been done domestically before, but they failed. Since we're picking this up again, we have to add things that haven't been done before, things the audience will actually care about."
"Understood."
Zoe nodded. "Miss, I was thinking... could we use the show's hype to secretly inquire about the whereabouts of The Stella Pendant?"
That jewelry set was left by Vivian's mother, and despite trying every method, Zoe hadn't found any news about the buyer.
But anything that happens leaves a trace.
An antique appraisal show could perhaps add a segment for tracing origins.
As long as they were true collectors, they would likely enjoy that segment.
