The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 364

"My fault... How about I stay by your side and nurse you back to health? Consider it my apology."

"If I were you, I'd be calling 911 right now instead of standing here flapping my gums."

"Oh, right, right... I'm on it!"

Vivian spun around and took two steps before remembering her phone was shattered to pieces. She awkwardly turned back to the man, offering a sheepish grin, and reached into his pocket to fish out his phone.

She unlocked it and dialed 911.

The wait was pure agony.

She stared at the knife and the endless flow of blood, her gaze losing focus for a second.

"Should I pull it out for you first? This is bad. You can't just keep bleeding like this."

The man's face was already turning ashen. He shot her a sideways glance.

"Do you even know how?"

"I think... so?"

Vivian took a deep breath. "I've seen it on TV. I know the technique. I feel confident."

Silas gritted his teeth. "You saw it... on TV?"

"..."

Before he could finish his sentence, the woman's hand clamped down and ripped the knife straight out of his shoulder.

The blood spurted out like a geyser. It was straight out of a horror movie.

It even splattered across Vivian's face.

She offered a sycophantic smile. "Sorry about that. That was a lot of blood."

Silas: "..."

Fortunately, Vivian's follow-up was quick. She grabbed a clean T-shirt and bound it tightly around the wound, managing a makeshift compression.

By the time Simon secured the captive and returned to the room, the scene nearly gave him a heart attack.

"This..."

It was an absolute bloodbath.

The room was destroyed, furniture was smashed to splinters, and blood painted the floor.

He stared at Vivian in shock. "Miss Fairchild, are you hurt?!"

But with her very first snip, she accidentally jabbed the edge of his wound.

"..."

"I am so sorry... I really don't have any experience with this."

The paramedic couldn't watch any longer. "Should I take over?"

"No, no, no, give me one more chance. I can do this!" Vivian took a deep breath and tried again.

This time went off without a hitch. She successfully cut through the fabric and pulled it back, exposing the man's sculpted, muscular chest.

Blood stained his collarbone, his neck, and even his face.

Honestly... there was a strange, rugged beauty to the sight.

Vivian swallowed hard and stepped back to make room. "I'm done cutting. You guys handle the rest. Be careful not to hurt him, and let me know if you need anything else."

The paramedic began treating the wound.

Silas kept his eyes shut, his brows not even twitching in pain.

Vivian crouched near the edge of the stretcher, unable to stop herself from reaching out to gently stroke his face. She whispered, "If it hurts, you can groan. I promise I won't laugh at you."
