The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 320

Chapter 320

Staring into his eyes, Vivian felt as if she had plummeted into a black abyss, utterly consumed by darkness and entirely trapped.

She forced a bright, dazzling smile, desperately trying to diffuse the suffocating tension in the room.

But the very next second, the man simply looked away.

It felt exactly like throwing a punch into a pile of cotton.

Vivian dropped her smile, a heavy sensation settling in her chest.

Before she could even begin to process what was happening, the man’s voice cut through the silence again. “Have you lost your appetite?”

Vivian gave a noncommittal hum. “Just looking at you is enough to fill me up. I guess you’re just that delicious to look at.”

Normally, Silas would either shoot back a scathing remark or completely ignore such a ridiculous line.

But today, he actually acknowledged it with a hum.

“Then don’t eat.”

“2”

He had always been fiercely against wasting food. Was he possessed today?

Before Vivian could say another word, the man next to her had already wiped his mouth and stood up, gazing down at her. “Think about it, and get ready.”

Get ready for what?

Silas didn’t elaborate. He simply turned and headed toward the restroom.

Watching him walk away, Vivian couldn’t shake the creeping suspicion that he had seen right through her little scheme. Otherwise, there was no way he would be acting this accommodating.

A few minutes later, he emerged.

The second he sat back on the sofa, Vivian leaned in close and took a sniff.

“Did you brush your teeth?”

The lounge bathroom was fully stocked with fresh towels and toothbrushes for convenience.

She knew this man had a strict habit of brushing his teeth after every meal.

Silas lowered his gaze, his eyes completely wrapping around her.

Her face was as flawless as a painting, impossibly hard to forget.

“Yeah.” The sound vibrated from his chest, rich and magnetic. “Since you said I was delicious, I figured I should dress the part.”

The rising temperature completely unleashed their pent-up desire.

Suddenly, the man’s large hands locked onto her waist.

A swift flip.

Their positions were instantly reversed. The stray hairs falling across his forehead shadowed his eyes, hiding whatever emotion was burning inside them. Only his low, gravelly voice broke the silence.

“I’m not a fan of women who take too much initiative.”

He crashed his lips onto hers.

His large hands trailed down the curve of her waist.

A flash of surprise crossed Vivian’s eyes, quickly swallowed by a hazy mist of desire.

She arched her back slightly, completely surrendering to his rhythm.

In the quiet, expansive office, the only sound was their heavy, tangled breathing.

The veins on the man’s muscular, tan arms bulged, as if his very blood was boiling with explosive force.

Vivian’s clothes had long been pushed aside, her flushed, radiant skin standing in stark, breathtaking contrast against his. The visual alone was like a shot of pure adrenaline, making Vivian feel as though she were about to burst into flames.
