Chapter 228
S las coldly pulled her hand away from his chest, but whether intentionally or not, he didn’t let go of it.
“Miss Fairchild, I don’t believe you’ve reached a level that would make me jealous
“Then when will I?”
He pressed his lips into a hard line, looking at her as if she had just asked the stupidest question on earth.
Vivian didn’t push the issue. She lowered her eyes to their joined hands, noting the stark contrast in skin tone and the sheer size of his grip compared to hers. When she spoke, her voice dropped into a soft, teasing purr.
“You didn’t answer my calls. I haven’t seen you in two days, and I missed you so much. Did you miss me?”
Lies poured out of her mouth as easily as breathing.
Missed him?
She had made exactly two effortless phone calls before giving up entirely.
Meanwhile, she was out shopping, traveling, and attending horse races with another man, having the time of her life.
As long as Vivian was around, there was never a dull moment. She chattered endlessly, and before they knew it, ten minutes had flown by.
When the sound of footsteps echoed at the door, they both looked up simultaneously.
Audrey stood in the doorway, momentarily freezing at the sight.
“You two know each other?”
From the looks of it, they were much more than mere acquaintances.
She tapped her fingers against the doorknob, stepped inside, and scrutinized the beautiful woman sitting in front of her.
At first, Audrey had assumed Vivian was just some eye candy Charlie had dragged along, which was why she hadn’t bothered saying more than a brief hello. But if she belonged to the Sterling heir…
A flicker of amusement sparked in her eyes as she looked at Silas.
“Hey, blind guy, where’d you snatch up such a gorgeous girlfriend?”

Chapter 228
Blind guy?
Vivian had only ever met one person brazen enough to speak to Silas like that -Grace
And now here was a second one.
She lowered her eyes, keeping her face completely neutral.
Silas didn’t seem enraged in the slightest. He threw her a glacial glance. “Are you begging me to burn this club to the ground?”
“Burn it! You think I don’t know how to call the cops?”
Audrey crossed her legs, entirely unfazed.
“But since you actually showed up today, I highly doubt you came just to commit arson. I challenge you to a race! Ride against me!”

The moment she said it, even Vivian was stunned into silence.
A horse race?
Against… Silas?
Vivian kept her mouth shut.
Silas’s gaze remained utterly impassive. It was the condescending look of an apex predator looking down on an opponent who wasn’t even worth his time.
He continued to toy with Vivian’s fingers, a casual yet dominant aura rolling off him in waves.
Audrey, who possessed a notoriously short temper, couldn’t handle his absolute indifference.
She slammed her hand down on the coffee table.
“Silas Sterling, what the hell is that supposed to mean!”
“What do you mean, Miss Huxley?”
“You’re too scared to race me, aren’t you?”
“Not scared. Uninterested.” Silas’s voice was calm, a slow, melodic baritone that dripped with
ice. “Have you ever seen someone bite back at a rabid dog?”
“1
It took Audrey a few seconds to process the insult. “Did you just call me a dog?!”
Silas raised an eyebrow, letting the silence serve as his answer.

Vivian marveled internally. This girl was nowhere near his level He could utterly destroy hea without even breaking a sweat
“Absolutely not!”
Predictably, Audrey lost her mind.
“You’re already here! You are racing me today whether you like it or not! I don’t care what excuse you come up with. I even prepped a horse for you. Let’s go!”

She stormed out like a hurricane, returning moments later with two bodyguards and her butler in tow.
The butler, however, was exceptionally polite. Judging by the way he spoke to Silas, they had known each other for a long time.
“You know how our lady’s temper is. She never managed to beat you when you two were children. If she can just get this out of her system, she’ll let it go. Mr. Sterling, please reconsider…”
