The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 215

Chapter 215

“…Am I supposed to say thank you?”

Chapter 215

The sheer audacity of her nonsense was staggering.

Silas scoffed. “You push your luck at every turn, Vivian. Have I been too lenient with you?”

“You’ve just been too good to me.”

Vivian leaned forward, melting against his chest, tilting her head to look up at him with massive, pleading puppy-dog eyes.

“Are you completely spineless?”

He pushed her away.

She stumbled back a step.

But immediately pivoted, looping her arms around his bicep. She went right back to being soft and pliable, acting as if she were made of water and simply liquified whenever she touched him.

Vivian smiled, the warm amber lighting catching in her eyes, making them shine like crushed diamonds. “I have bones. I just like being close to you. I know you’ve been incredibly tolerant of me. If I were anyone else, you probably would have thrown me out onto the street by now, right?”

Silas glanced down, the woman’s radiant face reflecting in his dark eyes.

“So, I won’t hold anything against you either.”

“You… won’t hold anything against me?”

“Exactly.”

“And what exactly are you graciously overlooking?”

“Well…” She puffed out her cheeks, pretending to recall something tragic, her tone dripping with mock grievance. “You’ve shoved me away countless times, haven’t you? You’re completely moody, you locked me out of the bedroom, and you’re always losing your temper

with me.”

Silas stared at her face for a long moment. He had to admit, this woman possessed the ultimate capital to act spoiled. Even while she was listing off his “crimes,” her posture remained irresistibly soft and seductive.

If she pulled this routine on any other man, they would have fallen to their knees to worship her long ago.

“Hearing you say it like that makes it sound like I’ve treated you terribly.”

His tone was completely unreadable. Vivian played right along “You certainly havent beer a saint.”

Silas fell silent again. He gazed at her porcelain cheeks, his black eyes like flawless obsidian, glowing with a soul-piercing intensity.

He didn’t even realize that the burning irritation he felt moments ago had completely evaporated.

A moment passed.

The woman beside him subtly scratched his palm with a delicate finger.

“So just say yes, okay? Hmm? Just agree. I promise I’ll be perfectly well-behaved and only sleep. If you don’t want to do anything else, I absolutely won’t force you.”

“…” Silas raised a hand and pinched her cheek. “What exactly goes on inside that head of yours all day?”

“You.”

Vivian beamed, her smile as breathtaking as a flower blooming in the dead of winter. “So, is that a yes?”

“And if I say no?”

“Nothing.”

The corners of her mouth drooped downward. “Who am I to complain? I’ll just have to hide in a corner, cry it out, and be secretly heartbroken. But it’s fine. It won’t kill me. I’ll just be sad’

*I’ll just be sad.*

The phrase was packed with an ocean of grievance and melancholy, making him sound like the ultimate heartbreaker.

Something crossed Silas’s mind, and he actually let out a quiet laugh.

He reached out, this time gently pinching her nose.

“If you stop provoking me, I naturally won’t get angry with you. For instance, right now Go be

a good girl, separate your clothes from mine, and hang them up properly. Understood?”

His low, magnetic baritone flowed like liquid honey, making her toes curl.

Vivian froze for a second.

The man added, “Good girl.”

Those two words struck a very specific nerve, making her entire body go soft.

Silas went into the master bathroom to shower. When he finished, he purposefully checked the walk-in closet. The woman’s clothes had been obediently moved to their own distinct

sections. It looked much better.

He returned to the bedroom.

She was sitting cross-legged on the sofa, her laptop resting on her thighs. The glow of the screen illuminated her gorgeous features, making her look unnervingly beautiful

For a split second, Silas felt a strange tremor in his chest, like an earthquake passing through without warning.
