Chapter 126
Such an accusation would be a profound insult to any man, but Silas didn’t even bat an eye. He didn’t need to offer any defensive retorts to prove himself-or rather, he simply had nothing to prove.
Seeing his grandson’s unfazed reaction, Grandpa knew he hadn’t taken the bait.
He chuckled knowingly and seamlessly shifted tactics.
“Since you’re so annoyed, why don’t you stay at the manor for a few more days?”
Silas scoffed. “Why don’t you just tell me what else you’re plotting?”
“Watch your tone, brat!” Grandpa gritted his teeth, but to achieve his ultimate goal, he couldn’t afford to completely alienate his ungrateful grandson. That would just be playing into his
hands.
“I just feel like we haven’t bonded as grandfather and grandson in a long time. With Vivian here, she’s the perfect glue to bring us together… It’s settled! You’re staying right here!”
Before Silas could even issue a rebuttal, Grandpa whistled a cheerful tune and walked away.
The next day.
Vivian was always an early riser. At exactly six-thirty, her eyes fluttered open.
The unfamiliar ceiling and the lingering, crisp scent of a man were immediate reminders that she had spent the night in Silas’s bed.
She hugged the duvet, taking a deep breath, before instantly feeling like a creep. She sat up and scanned the room, spotting the man sound asleep on the sofa.
Vivian smiled, slipping out of bed and walking over barefoot to quietly observe him.
Wow… Silas Sterling actually relegated to sleeping on a couch.
His sleeping posture was completely rigid and perfectly straight, incredibly conservative.
The sun hadn’t fully risen yet, and the dim morning light painted the sharp contours of his face. The beauty of this lighting was that it could hide flaws, making anyone look soft and mysterious.
But this was Silas. His striking features defied description, looking as flawless as a masterpiece crafted by a legendary artist.
He was wearing the same dark gray loungewear from the night before.
Vivian suddenly found herself wondering…
Exactly what kind of perfect physique was hiding underneath that fabric.

Chapter 126
Her mind wandered, and emboldened by the quiet morning, she reached out-but the very second her fingers brushed the hem of his shirt, his eyelids twitched.
Vivian’s breath hitched. Without a single rational thought, she panicked and threw her entire body weight directly on top of him.
The sudden impact forced a heavy grunt from the man’s chest.
Silas growled, his voice thick with sleep and rage. “Vivian! What the hell is wrong with you so early in the morning?”
For about one second, Vivian debated fleeing the scene, but then she decided to just lean into the chaos. She shimmied up his body, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck.
He smelled incredible, just like his bed-a crisp, clean, woodsy scent that was utterly unique
to him.
Silas sucked in a sharp breath, his large hands clamping down hard on her waist.
With a violent twist-
Vivian slid off his chest and ended up wedged tightly in the narrow gap between his body
and the back of the sofa.
The new position bizarrely made it look like Silas was intentionally embracing her, their bodies pressed intimately together.
“Did you not sleep well? Let me sleep with you a little longer.”
Her voice was soft and coaxing, dripping with deliberate sweetness.
Any other man would have instantly crumbled under such seductive innocence, but Silas just sneered. His dark, predatory gaze locked onto her, trapping her completely.
“Didn’t sleep well?”
His sarcasm was razor-sharp. “I think you’re just sleepwalking.”
“Probably. How else would I end up in your arms?”
The moment the words left her mouth, Vivian boldly slung her leg over his waist.
Silas squeezed his eyes shut tightly. When he finally opened them, the blurry shapes in front of him began to snap into sharp focus.
