The Alpha King's Mind Reading Maid (Cecilia) novel Chapter 232

Chapter 232

Cecilia’s POV

I barely made it to the bathroom in time. My stomach gave out the second I was at the toilet. The scent filled the bathroom, and it only made me vomit even more. My entire body was trembling as I heaved everything that was left in my body yesterday.

When there was nothing left, I sat on the floor, my head resting against the wall, and I allowed myself to close my eyes for a few moments. I took in a few deep breaths, my entire body trembling as I tried to calm my nerves.

What the hell was wrong with me lately?

It seemed as if my mind has been in such a fog lately. I had never lost control over Lora before, and it made me feel like I was completely losing it.

I heard a knock at the door and realized I’d forgotten to lock it. I internally cursed myself just as the door opened. I was about to say that it was occupied, but my voice wouldn’t work.

Thankfully, it was only Jasmine who stood on the other side of the door, her eyes looking worried as she searched my face.

“Are you alright?” She asked. “You left in such a hurry…”

I swallowed down the feeling that rose in my throat again and closed my eyes once more, trying to keep the bile down.

“I’m fine,” I tell her, though I know she doesn’t believe me.

She shut the door and stepped further into the room, crouching down in front of me.

“You don’t seem fine,” she says softly. “You nearly attacked Cora.”

My cheeks burned, and guilt gnawed at my insides.

“It was an accident,” I murmured, staring down at my trembling hands,

“Maybe so,” she breathed. “But still… something is wrong. I think maybe you should go to the healers.”

I shake my head quickly.

“No, it’s not that serious. I’m just tired,” I tell her. “You have nothing to worry about, truly. I’ll be fine. I need a few minutes and-”

“Cecilia, you are green,” she tells me. “I’m worried about you. The others are as well.”

I knew she was right; I could tell from the way Claira and Cora had looked at me before I took off. Though Cora looked terrified, I’m sure she was more worried about me than anything. She was a good friend, and I thanked her by nearly attacking her.

I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me whole.

I wiped my mouth, and I pulled myself to my feet.

“I’m okay,” I assured her. “I just need to keep my mind busy. If I’m still not feeling well this evening, then I will go to the infirmary. You have my word.”

She stared at me for a beat longer before she nodded and took a step back.

“You should rinse your mouth with some water,” she tells me, and then she rummages through the small purse

he’s carrying. “I might have a mint in here somewhere.”

I did as she said, rinsing my mouth out while she searched for a mint. I appreciated her help, even after what I had

done.

After a moment, she pulled out a small thing of mint and placed a couple in my hand.

“Thanks,” I said as I placed one on my tongue. “I’m feeling better already.”

She gave me a lopsided grin.

“Let’s see if you can still say that when we are testing food in the banquet hall,” she said, nudging my shoulder.” Are you feeling up to it?”
