Chapter 132
Cecilia’s POV
I avoided his room the next morning. It wasn’t difficult.
The palace was large enough that I could disappear. I tried hard enough, and for once, I actually wanted to. I didn’t want him to find me, though I knew I had to meet him for training in about an hour.
That was something I couldn’t get out of.
The memory of the night before clung to me like something I couldn’t wash away. Every movement felt different. My boy reminded me with every step, every breath, every shift of my muscles what had happened.
What I had allowed to happen.
What I had wanted.
I pressed my lips together and kept walking. If I thought about it too long, I wouldn’t be able to hold myself together. I would never be able to get through this training in one piece. I couldn’t afford to fall apart here, at least not yet.
Once in a while, I would get a whiff of the strange perfume that Anna had me put on. When she brought me my breakfast this morning, she gasped, and her eyes went wide.
“You… smell like him,” she had told me.
I furrowed my brows, my mind still foggy with sleep.
“What?”
“The King,” she said, her voice dropping to a low whisper. “Had you been with him recently? You smell very much like him… too much like him.”·
I hadn’t showered last night as I should have; I still had the evidence of what we had done on my belly, and the same sweat that dripped from him clung to my skin as well. My chest tightened; I knew even a shower wouldn’t fix that, and I was right.
I took a shower, and she gave me a one-shoulder shrug.
“I can still smell it,” she tells me. “It’s not as bad, though. But I can definitely tell something happened last night. Care to tell me about it?”
“If you don’t mind, I’d rather keep it to myself. It’s nothing to gossip about, “I tell her. I wasn’t entirely sure if I trusted Anna with this; she didn’t really have a good track record of keeping secrets or information to herself.
Her cheeks reddened, and she bowed her head, knowing exactly what I meant.
“Of course… It’s your business. I didn’t mean to pry,” she said, her voice dropping to a whisper. “How about some perfume? That might help mask the rest of his scent.”
I agreed and put the perfume on, and it was much stronger than I had anticipated. It made me sneeze several times before my nose got semi-used to it.
The moment I stepped onto the training field, I felt his gaze.
He was standing further away from the gammas, who were also using the space to train. This time, there was no sign of Caden, and I wondered where he had gone off to.
I barely glanced at Leopold as I approached. I walked past him and towards the same area we had trained the other day. It was more secluded, and Lora liked being near the forest line, despite the last dangers we faced while there. But I knew Landon and the Gammas were keeping the area safe, so there was no threat there right now.

Leopold followed after me, and I could feel the weight of his stare on the back of my head, but I refused to turn and look at him. When we reached the spot on the far side of the training grounds, I turned to face him, my shoulders straight and my ehad facing forward, but my eyes never met his.
“We will begin with the basics,” he finally said, breaking the silence that stretched between us.
I kept my actions careful; measured… weaker than I truly was. I missed the strikes I could have landed. I slowed when I should have reacted.
I became exactly what I had pretended to be from the beginning.
An Omega.
And yet… it didn’t feel like I was acting anymore.
I felt his eyes on me the entire time; he caught me off guard multiple times, successfully getting the upper hand over and over again. I was going backwards in my training, and I could feel it with every strike… with every time he captured me.
And I wasn’t even trying to be this bad.
“Again,” he said, his tone coming out almost flat.
