Chapter 122
Cecilia’s POV
His movements were so fast that didn’t have time to process them. My breathing was cut off, and I was in a vulnerable state of not being able to move. My heart thrummed against my body. Despite knowing that I was trapped, I didn’t feel as if I was in any danger.
I think it was because I knew Leopold would never truly hurt me. Or at least not on purpose, he wouldn’t
Without much thought, I was able to turn my body just enough to loosen his hold. I moved my head back so fast that he didn’t have time to prepare himself as my head slammed into his nose. With that, he released me immediately and stumbled back, his hand flying to his nose.
It was a move I had learned a long time ago, and from the look on his face, I could tell he was shocked. There was blood beneath his nose, though it was already drying.
He reached up to touch it, his eyes never leaving mine.
“How…” he started to ask, his words trailing off slightly.
I realized my grave mistake in a heartbeat. I was supposed to be acting like an Omega, but I was too strong and too fast. He was about to see right through me if he hadn’t already.
Leopold lowered his hand from his nose, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied me. His nose was already healed, though a thin layer of blood remained, even as it dried.
An unease I had never felt before formed in the pit of my stomach, and I could feel Lora’s unease over the situation. I really didn’t have much willpower to think about it, though. I swallowed the lump in my throat and was about to step back, but his voice stopped me.
“You’ve trained before.”
It wasn’t a question.
The morning air felt colder suddenly,
“A little,” I replied quietly, my eyes fixed on the ground, unable to take the weight of his gaze any longer.
“How much is a little?”
I shifted my weight, letting uncertainty creep into my posture. It felt unnaturalafter years of forcing myself to stand strong. But
I was in a different world now; I was no longer an Alpha’s daughter. I was an Omega… concubine to the Alpha King.
“My Alpha wanted everyone in the pack to be semi-trained in case there was ever a threat,” I say, my voice coming out unsteady and filled with uncertainty.
“And yet you weren’t able to defend yourself when you were kidnapped.”
I sucked my bottom lip into my mouth only for a moment before releasing it.
“I was caught off guard and drugged pretty quickly,” I tell him. “It weakened me and threw off my defense. But honestly… this was just a lucky shot. I’m not all that good.”
He stared at me for a moment longer, a little too long, and I started to feel my cheeks burning under his scrutiny.
“Again,” he said, stepping towards.
He moved with speed and precision, his eyes remaining on mine as he came at me. This time, though, I moved more slowly.
I wasn’t going to make the same mistakes again.

Itwasn’t enough to embarrass myself entirely, but it was enough to look like someone trying very hard to keep up with the Alpha King.
I blocked his first strike clumsily, my balance wearing as though I were barely holding myself upright. HI hand brushed my shoulder and allowed me to stumble back, catching my foot against a shallow rut in the dirt.
Pain flared briefly as I hit the ground.
I stayed there for a moment longer than necessary, pushing myself up with visible effort and brushing the dirt off my yoga pants.
King Leopold watched me closely.
“Why did you hesitate just now?”
“I…lost my footing,” I murmur.
