Edmond stood in the doorway, having heard their entire exchange.
Sheila had just claimed that when she commits to a relationship, she doesn't just leave.
Liar! She had tossed him aside without a second thought!
Seeing a shadow lingering at the entrance, Marcus looked up and nearly fell out of his chair. "Mr. Halley!"
What kind of insane luck did he have to keep running into this billionaire?
Edmond ruthlessly tore his gaze away from Sheila. "I came in for dinner," he lied smoothly. "I didn't expect to run into you again, Mr. Wagner."
Marcus practically sprinted to the door, fawning instantly. "What a coincidence! You're always so busy, getting a moment of your time is a miracle."
Taking the opportunity, Sheila stood up, shoved her documents into her bag, and walked toward the exit.
Marcus hesitated, torn between flirting with the woman he wanted and kissing up to the man who could make him rich.
"Sheila, let me give you a ride?"
Women were fun, but billions of dollars were definitely better. If he could just get in good with the Halley family, his entire company would skyrocket. Over the last two days, they kept crossing paths, and it actually looked like Edmond was trying to network with him.
Business always beat pleasure. Marcus wasn't stupid.
Sheila straightened her posture and replied coolly, "Don't bother. I know you're busy."
With that, she walked out. She didn't so much as spare Edmond a single glance.
Marcus almost stepped forward to chase her, but forced himself to freeze, offering Edmond an eager grin instead.
