After breakfast, Sheila sat in the outer room handling some work issues.
Even though she had called in sick, there were still urgent matters she needed to manage by messaging her colleagues on her phone.
Dante walked out from the inner room and announced, "Ms. Jensen, Tilly will be arriving shortly."
She paused, then her face lit up. "Really?"
"Yes, Mr. Halley just called Laura."
Once she finished her work, she went into the room. After a moment of thought, she said, "Thank you."
He was lying on his stomach reading emails. He glanced up. "For what?"
"For letting Tilly come visit."
She had asked before, but he had refused.
"It's not for you," he said, looking back at his screen. "I missed her."
Dante stood by in silence.
Even though his boss was officially hospitalized, he had gone home every single night right after Sheila left.
He saw his daughter every day.
When he had asked earlier if there was any chance of them getting back together, Edmond hadn't answered, but his expression... was incredibly complicated.
If Dante couldn't read his boss's heart before, the stabbing made it crystal clear: Sheila still held a very special place in Edmond's heart.
But then there was Tilly, and Tilly's mother... Dante had no idea which woman held more weight.
Whatever. He'd leave this complicated mess for his boss to sort out himself.
Around ten o'clock, Laura arrived with the little girl.
It wasn't their first time abroad; Edmond used to bring Tilly along on business trips occasionally.
But they had never stayed away this long before.
Even though Edmond owned properties here, including a breathtaking manor, and Tilly quite enjoyed it, Laura definitely preferred being back home.
