Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 82

Cecil looked thoroughly disgusted. "He's like a bad penny! Why do we keep running into him?"

Sheila glanced at him. "Just let it go."

Edmond was on the phone and had clearly spotted them too.

He paused for a second, but quickly turned and walked away on his long legs.

"What's with the attitude!" Cecil scoffed. "Walking around with that sour face all day, like someone owes him money!"

Sheila hadn't expected to bump into Edmond.

She hadn't mentioned she was off today and had agreed to come see him at 5 PM.

But it was only 3 PM now.

And she was taking a walk with Cecil.

Edmond was definitely going to be angry again.

But on second thought, what did his anger have to do with her?

She was just his carer, she hadn't sold her soul to him.

Her time was her own.

She didn't need to report her every move to Edmond.

Thinking this way, she felt much more at ease.

The two strolled back to the ward and chatted for another hour or so. It wasn't until ten to five that Sheila finally got up to leave.

She went upstairs and knocked on his door.

Edmond was sitting by the window and didn't even turn his head.

"I'm here," Sheila announced. "Would Mr. Halley like to eat first, or..."

Edmond cut her off. "You've been so busy, Sheila."

She froze.

But she quickly realized he was mocking her.

It was obviously because he had seen her with Cecil.

She had already explained her relationship with Cecil to Edmond before.
