Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 49

Edmond froze in place.

The towering, imposing man stood there in absolute silence.

Sheila looked away, her rapidly rising and falling chest slowly beginning to steady.

A man born into such supreme wealth and arrogance had likely never been humiliated like this in his entire life.

He should have stormed out instantly.

And from now on... they would never cross paths again until the day they died.

Then, she heard footsteps.

Sheila let out a massive breath of relief.

She didn't even want to psychoanalyze what kind of twisted mindset had possessed Edmond to come all the way here just to warn her away from Cecil.

Had he not toyed with her enough back then? Did he want to keep playing games now?

She refused to let Edmond hurt her ever again.

As his footsteps faded, Sheila turned around to lock the door.

By chance, she glanced up, catching sight of the man's broad, inexplicably lonely back.

Without warning, he suddenly stopped and turned around.

Sheila immediately averted her gaze.

Edmond finally spoke, his voice even colder than before. "Suit yourself."

Sheila slammed the door shut with a loud bang!

She didn't need his fake concern!

Sheila sat on the edge of her bed, taking a long time to finally calm her racing heart.

After an unknown amount of time had passed, she finally reached under her pillow and pulled out her phone.

There were several missed calls on the screen. Aside from the ones from Edmond, the rest were from Cecil.

She quickly called him back.

"Cecil."

Cecil was already pulling up to the street right outside her building.

Hearing her voice, he immediately asked, "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Sheila quickly replied. "I was just in the shower, and I left my phone in the bedroom."

Cecil signaled his driver to turn the car around. "Alright."
