Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 37

Sheila couldn't help but say, "She's so sweet."

The adorable little girl was sitting on her lap, looking the picture of total innocence and obedience.

It was enough to melt anyone's heart.

Edmond glanced at her, his tone casual. "Sweeter than you."

It was a completely bizarre thing to say.

But Sheila instantly remembered that Edmond used to feed her just like this.

And she... really hadn't been very cooperative.

Whenever she was deep into her work, she completely forgot how to take care of herself.

Edmond would drag her to sit beside him, personally feeding her bite by bite until he was satisfied she had eaten enough.

But Sheila wasn't nearly as well-behaved as Tilly.

She was either stubbornly trying to multitask or intentionally messing around.

If she was focused on her studies, Edmond would physically turn her face toward him to get her to take a bite.

When she was feeling mischievous, she would sit on his lap, taking one bite and giving him one kiss.

She had no idea how much self-control it took for Edmond to wait until she was full before dragging her off to bed.

Looking back on it, she really was far less cooperative at the dinner table than Tilly.

Sheila looked up, catching his dark, intense gaze.

Clearly, they were both thinking about the exact same memory.

But the truth remained: the sweeter the memories were, the more cruel it was to remember them now.

In fact, Sheila wished she could bury those memories so deep she would never find them again.

Pretend they had never happened.

Because she refused to dwell on the fact that the man who had given her so many beautiful memories was an absolute bastard.

She turned her face away, acting as if she hadn't heard his comment.

Edmond's words had slipped out before he could stop them.

And he regretted them instantly.

In his entire life, he had only ever pampered two people like this.

One was his daughter, Tilly, and the other was Sheila.

But evidently, love was incredibly unreliable.
